I mean really if they feel no shame over America engaging in torture than is there anything at all that would make them feel shame? The one question that brought down the McCarthy era was "Has he no shame?" Americans felt shame for his antics and he was brought down. I don't think Americans have that same capacity anymore..There is no shame any longer for a great portion of Americans..

3. I don't think they feel shame over anything
when they're caught, they don't even act embarrassed, they just get angry.

9. Yes, there is one thing
Having less money. Why do you think they hate the Kennedys so? Because not only are they liberal, but they have money!! Why it's enough to make them burst a blood vessel.

If you get into a discussion of credit with a Repub, which I have, the ultimate put-down is "I don't NEED credit, I have money."

It is dangerous to say such a thing to a Repub though, you have to sit down when you do or you'll have a pair of lips on your ass so fast you'll feel like you walked into a kennel of bloodhounds on speed.

5. Old joke reworked
A Democratic Senator and his Republican colleague are walking back from lunch in the Senate dining room when a beautiful intern walks towards them.

The Democrat says, "I'd really like to screw her!"

And the Republican replies, "Out of what?"

6. Lying.
They've done plenty of that, even though their often "religious" principles should tell them otherwise.

8. Poverty. And northern Republics hate southerners.

Moved from a sourthern farm to Chicago. First two years in the Republic suburbs I was treated like shit. I didn't talk right, dress right, walk right (seriously), etc.

Then I moved into the Democratic city itself. In Chicago I was surrounded by liberals who viewed hillbilly as just another ethnic group. And as one that almost speaks English, a bit more welcome than most.

Which is why I did not understand the Democratic strategy of trying to win over the burbs. Rural folk get their hands dirty, are laid back and largely poor. Suburbs are clean, uptight and wealthy. Most of the city is dirty, tolerant and largely poor.

One of these things is not like the other. One of these things doesn't belong.

Not a knock on the burbs here. I'm just saying that city folk and rural folk are more alike than either are like suburbanites.

12. In order to feel shame, one has to have a conscience AND
there has to be a shamER.. Dems have always let up on the pressure, and let them go back to business-as-usual.

Republicans are masters at the shame on you business.. They latch onto a dem who has done something , and like pitbulls, they NEVER LET GO..

We, on the other hand, say naughty naughty shame on you..now c'mere & get a hug..
