Charles Barkley on CNN:
Edited on Fri Feb-15-08 04:23 PM by FLDem5
I'm running for Governor of Alabama in 2014. I'm for Gay Marriage. I'm Pro-Choice. Fake Christians can't hurt me because I don't work for them; they forget to read the part of the Bible about forgiveness. They think they are judge and jury.

Leslie Blitzer tried to get him to back off a little "you will get a response from this". I don't care, says Charles!

Wow. Thats a way to kick off a campaign!

:D

17. I saw him play many times at Auburn.
Couldn't believe a 6-5 guy weighing 280 pounds could do such shit. It was also funny as hell listening to some of his trash talking.

after he said "I am not your kid's Role Model"..I like seeing him on talk shows.. he never pulls any punches and says exactly what's on his mind

18. Which is exactly why he'll never get anywhere in politics
The man has no internal filter...straight from his brain to his mouth. It's endearing as all get out (even when he says the most outrageous things), but not politically expedient.

A Charles Barkely gubernatorial run would be an awesome thing to behold, however...

Edited on Fri Feb-15-08 04:55 PM by FLDem5
he didn't like it much! but on the flipside, Sir Charles has dabbled in political statements for quite awhile, and he has several years for handlers to damage his ideals.

26. He's lived here in AZ for some time but recently went back to his home
state, Alabama.

We knew he had serious political aspirations and were kind of hoping he'd kick them off here--but Alabama definitely will benefit from his straight, gutsy, gamesmanship. The man's a brilliant gamer. Go Sir Charles. YES!

22. The Round Mound of Poltical Sound.
I know he never liked that nickname, but, as a husky guy myself ... I always thought that it was great that a guy with his build could show his incredible agility.

I hope he brings that same surprising agility to this endeavor.

27. He's got a few things going for him already.
They may forgive him for being pro-choice and pro-marriage by 2014, if he kowtows sufficiently to the corporations.

I'd like to know what he does care about.
