Debunking right wing talking point, one by one.
:)

Ok, here is a game:

I will start with posting a single right-wing talking point. The first person to reply has to debunk it with a single reply to this post. He then can post a different right-wing talking point as a reply to the OP. The next person who wants to debunk that one, replies to that post and then posts another talking point as reply to the OP. We go on and on till all right-wing talking points of the world are debunked ;).

Just make sure your counter talking point is always posted as a reply to the original talking point to keep things orderly.

So here goes:

"Damn libruls want to regulate everything."

2. Government regulation could have kept jobs in the U.S. ...
(or at least eliminated some of the financial incentives for moving them overseas).

Next right-wing talking point: "The only thing the Democrats know how to do is raise taxes."

3. I think the big ones are
Morality (McCain: divorced; Clinton, Obama: 1st marriage).
Small gov't, lower taxes (W said in his sotu that the "average America will see a tax increase of $1087." Well, Bill Gates and that homeless guy have an average net worth of $20 billion. Am I lying? no. Am I twisting the facts? Absolutely.)
And military (no, Dems want the best and most efficient military available, not some drafted, tortured force that is constantly invading and occupying another country).
You definitely covered taxes.

What else?

9. how would governmental regulation have kept jobs in the US?
unless you are talking about a lack of regulation in other countries.

I'm missing the argument.

governmental regulation does keep us safe, without it we'd all be dead (clean air, water, safe ladders etc.)

10. "The Terror Timeline" by DUer Paul Thompson.

Can't label Paul Thompson as a "woo woo" (whatever the hell that means) conspiracy theorist. Everything chronicled in this book happened.

7. Pernicious one - Liberals don't want people to have to work
Or Liberals don't believe in honest work.

Of course what Liberals believe in is an honest wage for honest work, and that people who have temporary misfortunes shouldn't be cast aside.

11. What we need is a Daily R False Talking Point Award! to help sort thru ...
Edited on Sat Feb-16-08 03:05 PM by L. Coyote
all the lies and BS.

The first award goes to Boehner for calling telecom immunity "the Good Samaritan Law."

I'm calling this award the "Hubris in Oxymoranics Trophy"

It is a traveling trophy, but not to be readily forwarded
by anyone without concurrence of another contributor to this thread!

12. "Tax cuts for the rich and job offshoring are GREAT for the economy.
Sure the initial job loss is painful. But overall, you're gonna get better jobs as a result. Economics 101, ya stupid lib bastards."
