I about threw up when I read the company he keeps! Look under the "Board of Advisors" where his name is listed. How can he even call himself a Democrat? What is WRONG with that man?

Read it and retch ...

6. Schumer's still doing his dirty work with the DSCC.
Last week, he forced out the good guy in the KY Senatorial primary (Horne) in order to grease the way for the former Republican, corrupt, multi-millionaire associate of Gov. Fletcher (Lumsford?)

So once again, if the Democrat wins, we get another conservative "Republicrat" in the Senate, and he'll be beholden to Schumer.

Schumer is getting to be the most powerful person in the Democratic party, and I'd like to find a way to keep him and the DSCC out of the primaries.

It should be none of their business who a state party nominates to run agains a Republican Senatorial candidate.

12. Sourcewatch report of FDD
Edited on Sat Feb-16-08 11:18 AM by Ichingcarpenter
Origins of FDD

Daniel McCarthy expressed an enhanced view of FDD's origins in the November 17, 2003, issue of The American Conservative.<1>

In early 2001, a tightly knit group of billionaire philanthropists conceived of a plan to win American sympathy for Israel's response to the Palestinian intifada. They believed that the Palestinian cause was finding too much support within crucial segments of the American public, particularly within the media and on college campuses, so they set up an organization, Emet: An Educational Initiative, Inc., to offer Israel the kind of PR that the Israeli government seemed unable to provide itself.

At first, Emet floundered, without an executive director or a well-defined mission. But that changed after Sept. 11, and Emet changed too, into what is now the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies. The name is different, but the goal of influencing America's opinion-forming classes remains.

What makes all of this possible is the support the foundation receives from its billionaire backers. Its nearly $3 million annual budget comes from 27 major donors, most of whom are members of "the Study Group"--also sometimes called the "Mega Group" because of their sizeable contributions--a semi-formal organization of major Jewish philanthropists who meet twice a year to discuss joint projects.

Leonard Abramson was the point man for establishing Emet. He, Michael Steinhardt, and Edgar Bronfman were the foundation's board of directors at the time of its incorporation in the spring of 2001.

13. Any Praise Any Where
I'm sure they all act like he's a great guy and flatter him like crazy. Schumer is a publicity hound and a blowhard. He'll go anywhere and do anything to get a little reflected glow. He probably gets all warm and goosey when he looks around at the famous faces of the powerful and thinks 'I'm one of them!" Pathetic how a man will skin his principles alive to feed that kind of need.

Still "Mean Jean" Schmitt is lurking around in the shadows like the whore she is, sticking her bare leg out into the light in hopes she might find a customer ... wonder if Schumer is into her too since he made sure she would win ...

30. Not quite so...
1) The cost of living in DC is 34% higher than in Seattle, according to this calculator.

http://swz.salary.com/CostOfLivingWizard/layouthtmls/coll_metrodetail_192.html#moving
http://swz.salary.com/costoflivingwizard/layoutscripts/coll_result.asp?presentsalary=200000&presenthomemetrocode=163&presentworkmetrocode=163&newhomemetrocode=192&newworkmetrocode=192¤tlocation=163&newlocation=192&x=44&y=13

That's a big chunk of change.

2) You can't use benefits and fringes to pay housing costs. Their salaries are a lot less than $200K.

3) They have to maintain TWO households - one in their home district, which is where their families live, AND a residence in Washington. If you don't have a second home, your cost of living is much lower. Houses are REALLY expensive in DC and in the nearby suburbs unless you live in the most impoverished areas. And with all the talk of the housing bubble bursting, it's not happening in close-in neighborhoods, because the demand is still out there and commuting is a nightmare. Only the farther out suburbs' prices are dropping significantly.

4) Congresscritters basically work around the clock. It makes perfect sense to me that they would cram 4 people in a townhouse as close to Cap. Hill is possible, and that they would go there just to sleep, and that no one cooks. They don't have time to shop, prepare meals, clean, etc., AND work, AND go back to their home districts, AND campaign, etc.

I wouldn't want to live that way, and you wouldn't, but I understand why they do.

34. Ya Got Me There Though Seattle Is VERY Expensive
...for awhile I think we were third in the cost of living, maybe it has dropped now ~ but you could not prove it to ME who had to move out of Seattle last summer because there was not even an affordable place to be found on my income.

However, back to the point, I am sorry this poor, poor wittle man whose bank account I would be VERY interested to see, that he has had to "suffer" so much that, in order to pay his rent, he "has" to keep company with a bunch of known "legal" criminals and fascists like the list provided, lol.

Oh. BTW, I worked as hard at two jobs, going to school and raising 3 kids alone, so I think I can say I worked as hard or harder, getting less than 5 hours sleep most nights ~ and graduated with honors. Cook dinner? I did that AND the laundry AND paid the bills with my meager salaries. I was lucky to have enough gas to get anywhere, no ride to work in a limo, no nanny to take care of my kids, no flying all over the world first class at other people's expense, and my kids and I were lucky to get Top Ramen for dinner some nights because unlike Schumer there was no dining in the finest resteraunts on somebody's else's dime, nor VIP treatment if we COULD afford to go to the grocery store. Yeah he has it REAL bad ... LOL

I don't think there's any excuse for his criminal friends. I suspect he hangs out on that board for reasons besides $ and that's just as disturbing. Gotta reach across the aisle, ya know. I was just meaning that I'm not surprised he's got a lot of roommates in the townhouse.

I've never been to Seattle but hear it is absolutely beautiful.

39. Schumer and Clinton also teamed up to trash the Alito filibuster in the Senate caucus
and their staff attacked Kerry for leading it in the press questioning his motives.

Clinton got thousands of phonecalls at her office and the next day she signed onto the filibuster but the damage by then had been done as they made it clear earlier with other senators that making that filibuster succeed was NOT a priority.
