Quick--who's the last Prez to go straight from the Senate into the White House? 'Cuz this year... |
|
...it's going to happen no matter what.

4. You got it--but even then, it wasn't senator versus. senator... |
|
Since Nixon was a sitting Vice President.
Trying to figure out the last time two sitting Senators duked it out for the electorate.

5. Actually, Obama is going straight from Ilinois Senator to the |
|
nomination. According to his wife, all the people were in place for a presidential run by then end of 2006. He just got the U.S. Senate seat that November. That's a BIG jump in our political history.. that I know of anyway. Major backers behind this great looking, great talking guy. I'll be looking for the "beef".

8. Actually, I believe he was elected to the Senate |
|
in November 2004, wasn't he? Still, not a lot of Senate experience.

6. I would argue that it is "Senator Cheney" |
|
who as President of the Senate routinely swears at Democrats and defeats tied legislation only to go to his real job of puppet master at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

Not so fast, bucko. A third party candidate could be what happens.
Or Gore.
