Hell with them. Insurance companies. I stay accident free and every 6 months, they steadily hike my auto premium. They own city blocks of fine office buildings. What happens when a catastrophe occurs and the insured reach out to them? They search for every possible way to weasel out of the claim. I thought about the Gulf Coast residents after Ivan and Katrina. Then, I thought about why they are always raising the premiums for everyone, no matter where they live, to cover any losses somewhere else and still make a mint worthy of Ft Knox vaults. Then, I thought of my 7 year old vehicle and how much the replacement value would be. If and when I ever buy a new vehicle, then I will think about comprehensive coverage again. Until then, I will be content with liability with the new insurer, who I selected after canceling with the thieves that I've had coverage with for years. Ever wondered why they insure autos in 6 month terms as a norm? So, they can jack up your rates more often. Hell with them, that's what I say.
