Is CNN looking to hire Jon Stewart? |
|
I'been seeing these promos CNN is running for Jon's appearance on the Larry King show as if Jon's already one of their guys (or Michael Jackson).
I don't know that Jon would leave Comedy Central for a lesser news outlet like CNN, but it would not be surprising to see him get a regular paying gig there until after the election. Would it?
I don't watch much of the teevee, so maybe I missed something.

1. I think Stewart's pretty happy where he is and would be shocked! if |
|
he accepted a gig at CNN. The likely explanation is that CNN knows they have a crowd pleaser and ratings grabber with Stewart so they're milking it.

2. Maybe they want him to put Larry King Live to death like he did Crossfire? |

3. When pigs fly and hell freezes over |
|
He ABHORS the mainstream television media outlets and I can't see him going to any of them. He rarely goes an episode without making fun of Faux/CNN/MSNBC/etc. in some way (especially the inaptly named Fox "News").
Plus, his style of work is far more suited to Comedy Central.

4. When he's on Larry King the ratings are higher than normal |
|
They're just promoting it to ensure more ratings.
I doubt his style of show would fit as a regular part of an actual news channel.
