Please enable us to hide the GD-P threads on the "greatest" page.

It's very annoying to sift through the pettiness. Right now, my only resort is to highlight the word "Primaries" in my Google tool bar, & let me tell you, the page lights up like Las Vegas.

If it's possible to let us hide the GD-P on latest, why in the world aren't we able to do the same for the "greatest" page. These annoying, self-mutilating threads are by no means "the greatest" of what DU has to offer.

I realize when someone posts a request for change by the administrators that the "kiss-up's" will come out of the woodwork, but Skinner replied to this same request that I'd made earlier & he said that Elad would be working on it. My post was a reminder.

I'm glad that you aren't bothered. I find them not worthy of attention, let alone being considered "great".

I'm asking that those of us who are annoyed by these threads have the choice of hiding these threads for their own personal use. Those who enjoy slinging the dirt & basking in it can still enjoy topping one another & re-living the GD-P forum on the "greatest" page. Nothing is taken away from anyone; everyone will be happy.

I try to stay away from GD: P... I do my absolute best not to get caught up in that crap. I've got it blocked on the latest page. But unfortunately, I'll go to the greatest page, or I'll start at the home page and there it is... just like heroin for a junkie... calling me.. little voices saying, "You're not gonna let them say that, are you??"... :dilemma: :argh: B-)

if you look at the posts in GD you can tell which ones have been rated up, and you can decide from there which ones to click on.

Once they start making changes to accommodate part of the group, it must seem that there will be no end to the requests for changes. If you've asked before, maybe it's time to be grateful for what we have and let it go.

For now I just pass anything posted under Primaries without even reading it, if I can avoid reading it.

to get to the greatest page - 'cause most of what is coming from that forum is bile and it makes me sad to think that the Greatest Page has become a receptacle for the worst of DU.

Go to options

Click "Edit you preferences"

Click "yes" next to Hide General Discussion: Primaries from the Latest page?
Selecting "yes" will remove threads from GD:P from the Latest page

This will also block on the "greatest" page. At least it worked for me....
