Steve Scully, C-Span moderator, corrects RW caller on Obama's religion

This is the FIRST time I've EVER heard this on any network - a RW woman called in, saying she's upset about the results of the election today, and she was so put-off by hearing Michelle Obama talk about how proud she'll be when she sees Barak put his hand on the Bibile to take the oath of office -

And Steve interrupted her and corrected her, she went on to say that Obama took his Senate oath on a Koran, and he corrected her again, then she went on to talk about how Obama was a Muslim and Steve corrected her AGAIN, and AGAIN.

It was great! I loved it! Yay C-Span!!!

have been correcting those ignorant callers. They must have decided it was such an egregious "error"
they had to slap it down. I've heard them do it 3 times lately.

People who that out of touch with reality are pretty much immune to reason.

Unfortunately Steve didn't tell her to go do HER homework and find out the truth...

I couldn't believe it!

8. You`re right. I heard the call and even though the host corrected her she said...

"well, that's not what I heard. And I heard it on the tee-vee".

My response to Mr Sueh was that if Obama wins the nomination and the general election, that woman will be miserable for at least 4 years.

6. CSPAN has handled this issue very well.

I am often critical of their right wing slant but on this they have done a very good job and deserve credit for that.

9. Almost every morning on Washington Journal women call in with the same Muslim slur on Obama

They are usually southern sounding. Always with, "we don't know anything about him". Or "his father was a radical Muslim". Or the usual stuff about his church, refuses to put his hand on his heart during the pledge, and one lady said, "he doesn't even say God Bless America at the end of his speeches"!

On the Obama web site he has a huge section devoted to dispelling all they dis-information about him, complete with videos of him with his hand over his heart saying the pledge, etc.
