I know he's a wounded veteran and had skin cancer and is a septuagenarian and can't move his arms and all that, but does he have to look so pathetic? :shrug:

That's where this whole "maverick" thing comes from. The family (especially the brass like his dad and grandad) expected him to fall in line and he rebelled WILDLY. He graduated at about the bottom of his class after partying his way through school.

3. He doesn't look like he'd survive a term as president

So even more will be riding on the repubs VP choice than normal. If they wind up with some hack they will definitely lose because voters will halfway expect McCain to croak while in office. And there's the problem - all they have is hacks.

I don't feel sorry for him, "my friends". if he wants to be the friggin president he has to convince us he'll be alive when the time comes for him to take offfice. Right now I don't think a lot of people believe he will.
