Top 100 fundy quotes (SCARY/HILARIOUS)

Just to give you guys a little taste... (these are all real)

"Gravity: Doesn't exist. If items of mass had any impact of others, then mountains should have people orbiting them. Or the space shuttle in space should have the astronauts orbiting it. Of course, that's just the tip of the gravity myth. Think about it. Scientists want us to believe that the sun has a gravitation pull strong enough to keep a planet like neptune or pluto in orbit, but then it's not strong enough to keep the moon in orbit? Why is that? What I believe is going on here is this: These objects in space have yet to receive mans touch, and thus have no sin to weigh them down. This isn't the case for earth, where we see the impact of transfered sin to material objects. The more sin, the heavier something is. "

"I often debate with evolutionists because I believe that they are narrow mindedly and dogmatically accepting evolution without questioning it. I don't really care how God did what He did. I know He did it."

1. Here's a choice excerpt:

Yes, that is a great company. I bought one of their large print version (old eyes... what can I say?).

The only thing I don't like about them is they sell foreign language versions of the KJB. I don't think that's right. We know the only true translation is the 1600's version in English.

It's too risky for anybody to translate that into other languages. Mistakes can creep in... and that can lead to heresy. True Christians should only read English.

9. They are a thick lot, aren't they?
Of course when the bible was translated into English there couldn't possibly have been any mistakes made, right. The tales of the bible, often passed on by word of mouth before they were ever recorded in writing, and the consequent transcription by countless scribes before they were condensed into the bible we know today, left NO room for error, if I understand what this intellectual giant is saying?

Yeah, that's a good one. Pot, kettle, black.... and all that. These people are hopeless. This is a perfect example of why the very first lesson of the bible is, "to not eat from the tree of knowledge". Knowledge....BAD! Blind faith....GOOD! There's a reason why they're always referred to as god's "flock", "lambs" and "sheep" as well. Sheep don't question anything. They stand around with a stupid blank stare on their faces and allow themselves to be herded anywhere the shepherd wants them to go. Usually to the slaughterhouse. The religious are very good sheep, aren't they?

73. Of course there had to be a bit of political pressure. An empire might
want to change stewardship of the earth to dominion over the earth. They might want to change a passage that could be interpreted that Jesus was doing more than praying.

Mark 14:51-52

51 And there followed him a certain young man, having a linen cloth cast about his naked body; and the young men laid hold on him: 52 And he left the linen cloth, and fled from them naked.

Not only is that the reason the only proper bibles are in English, but that's also why English is the official language of the U.S.--because it was founded as a Christian nation. Duh!

Shouldn't be necessary, but just in case: :sarcasm:

Please tell me this is a joke.

These people are SERIOUSLY disturbed.

"A man can have sexual pleasure from a child as young as a baby. However he should not penetrate, sodomising the child is OK. If the man penetrates and damages the child then he should be responsible for her subsistence all her life. This girl, however does not count as one of his four permanent wives. The man will not be eligible to marry the girl's sister."

6. Great one:
One of the most basic laws in the universe is the Second Law of Thermodynamics. This states that as time goes by, entropy in an environment will increase. Evolution argues differently against a law that is accepted EVERYWHERE BY EVERYONE. Evolution says that we started out simple, and over time became more complex. That just isn't possible: UNLESS there is a giant outside source of energy supplying the Earth with huge amounts of energy. If there were such a source, scientists would certainly know about it.

10. That's actually a fundamentally disturbing thing about many "believers".
That they derive their morality from the existance of a higher power judging them.

I feel a little discomforted that these people actually need someone looking over their shoulder in order to be moral.

Like drunk christians don't fight.

Isn't that why people have a conscience? So that we don't have to rely on our basic instincts in this modern and advanced world? I don't need no stinkin' 2000 year-old crumpling book of judgment (written by pundits all the way) to tell me it's not okay to rape, muder or steal. I KNOW it's not okay, dammit, my mom told me.

44. They taught us in Psych 101 that there are stages of moral
development. Most adults move through the stage of "doing good to avoid punishment" during or immediately after their teenage years. Maturity, morally speaking, is doing good for the sake of doing good. One knows what is right and choses to do right out of ones own desire to do so. Morally immature people tend to get stuck in the earlier stage from childhood only doing right to avoid the negatives associated with being caught. Seems to sum up the Freeper/Fundie psyche pretty well, I think.

In his image and all that.

Here's the funny thing. I've had experiences that have led me to believe in something more encompassing than you and I and yet, it seems that fundies sure like to limit down that thing that cannot be explained. Black and white thinkers, they, and not very good at deductive reasoning either, if they can't assess the difference between atheists and muslims.

I'd venture to say that the label "stupid" could reasonably be applied to such knuckle draggers.

No one knows what's happening until the flood comes (according to Matthew). And the flood is here - it refers to the apocalypse. There is a huge amount of supporting evidence on the site. For example, there is evidence for the wh0re of Babylon due to a 666 mile long penis in Mexico.

22. Scary-try this little bit of fan fiction *WARNING*
This is what it would be like, if the majority of people were athiests.
ATHIEST KID: Mom, I'm going to go fuck a hooker.
ATHIEST MOM: Okay, son.
ATHIEST KID: Afterwards, I'm going to go smoke pot with my friends, since it's "not addictive."
ATHIEST MOM: Okay, come home soon!

The athiest kid leaves the room. The father comes home from work several minutes later.

ATHIEST DAD: Hey!
ATHIEST MOM: Hi, honey! I'm pregnant again. I guess I'll just get another abortion, since "fetuses don't count as human life."
ATHIEST DAD: Okay, get as many abortions as you want!
ATHIEST MOM: Oh, and don't go in the bedroom.
ATHIEST DAD: Why not?
ATHIEST MOM: There are two gay men fucking eachother in there.
ATHIEST DAD: Why are they here?
ATHIEST MOM: I wanted to watch them do it for awhile. They just aren't finished yet.
ATHIEST DAD: Okay, that's fine with me!

Suddenly, their neighbor runs into the house.

ATHIEST NEIGHBOR: Come quick, there's a Christian outside!
ATHIEST MOM: We'll be right there!

The athiest couple quickly put on a pair of black robes and hoods. They then exit the house, and run into the street, where a Christian is nailed to a large, wooden X. He is being burned alive. A crowd of athiests stand around him, all wearing black robes and hoods.

RANDOM ATHIEST: Damn you, Christian! We hate you! We claim to be tolerant of all religions. But we really hate your's! That's because we athiests are hypocritical like that! Die, Christian!

THE END

Scary, isn't it?

21. My son is sneaking a girl into his room who is leaving magazines with men in them?
I am a bit troubled. I believe my son has a girlfriend, because she left a dirty magazine with men in it under his bed. My son is only 16 and I really don't think he's ready to date yet. What's worse is that he's sneaking some girl to his room behind my back. I need help, God! I want my son to stop being so secretive!

Linda, Good news prayer room <2006-Oct-28>

My answer: Dear Linda, your son doesn't want to sneak a girl into his room, he wants to sneak boys into his room. Perhaps you should sign up for therapy right now and save yourself some grief down the road.

I mean really, I want to say Lady, you son is gay. For me personally, I would say "I love you and nothing is going to change that" to my son, and add that he could tell me anything. This woman is going to have a serious meltdown when she finds out. Its the mother that is going to need the therapy, not the son.

25. I wish I hadn't followed the link because now I am crying for Bobby:
Just recently my son Bobby came out to me. I had been worried for awhile. His teachers said most of his grades were slipping and he seemed depressed and withdrawn.

Bobby said he'd been hiding it for awhile because he was afraid I would reject him. I sat him down and told him that I loved him and that God loved him, but that his salvation was in danger if he did not resist his unnatural tempations. I told him how being gay would mean he would live a shorter life, and that if he couldnt change his orientation he could be celibate like most the ex-gays are. He started crying saying something along the lines of "I knew you wouldnt understand! You're just like everyone else!" before running to his room and slamming the door.

What did I do wrong? I dont want to lose my son, but I fear I already have. I talked it over with his therapist, who had the ludicrous idea that homosexuality was unchangable and that trying to repress could lead to lots of psychological damage (I've dropped him and will try to be finding another therapist with more moral beliefs). I wouldnt be surprised if he's the one who's feeding my son all the homosexual propaganda about how its 'ok' to be gay. That, or how homosexuality has engulfed the media, making it seem 'cool' and 'hip' and how they were just another oppressed minority. You didnt have to worry about seeing two men making out on tv at my age! I dont want to sound like a fanatic, but Im worried what other effects will come out of this increasingly secular, immoral society obsessed with filth.

Am I too late? Or is it possible to save my son

(Note: the boy eventually took his own life.) When I tried to follow the link, the post had been scrubbed.

42. So Sad
My Lord and My God!... This makes me embarassed to call myself Christian. As far as I am concerned, these idealogues need to accept scientific fact. It is so ridiculous. Most of them have "never" met a gay person (so they think) so they have not been challenged to think outside their perfect little white bible belt worlds where the way they think works perfectly... for them - but not for gay people, black people, hispanic people, poor people, drug addicted people, women, etc. Pick yourself up by the bootstraps and change and be perfect like me. ugh. It is so sad and it is not Christian as far as I'm concerned. It seems to me, as a believer, that atheists live out Christian ideals much better than most Christians. They have a perception of reality and the world around them that many Christians don't.

I went to college with a few Bobbys. People like that make me want to hurt them with that crap. Thank goodness none of my friends took their own lives, and we did our darndest to make sure they were accepted and loved, but their parents often were a huge part of the problem.

May Bobby's memory be ever eternal, and may he finally be in a place of love and peace where he can rest from all that pain.

32. There are a couple of quotes to FReeperland
Su-prise! Su-prise! Su-prise!

"I have a gay daughter and have been loving and accepting of her and her partner, but not of their lifestyle. We have made clear our opinions, but my wife and I do not make life uncomfortable for them because of our opinions.

When they announced that they were going to try and get pregnant, we sat them down and explained our position. We explained why we believed that children should have a mother and a father and told them that, should they go though with this, we would sue for custody of our grandchild. We assured them that living in the South that we had a better than even chance of winning.

Though they were not happy with our decision, they still visited and were welcomed and we have always been welcomed at their home. They thought of moving elsewhere but didn't like any of the places with more liberal laws. (A lesson in how liberalism ruins a place) It has now been eight years and still no babies."

Ho-lee-fuk'n-shit!

38. Hope this lady never gets sick
Do you know what medical students are exposed to as they are learning about medicine? In one college course, students were required to "examine" other stripped down students! This is abominable. Is it worth it to go through that kind of education and ignore God's Word? Looking on nakedness is a shameful and intolerable thing. And most employment for doctors and nurses requires looking on other people's nakedness (bathing patients, giving shots, operating, examining, etc.) What will we do as people who have been bought at the very high price of the blood of God? What will be most important to us? Our careers... or our integrity as priests of God?

71. I hope she does get sick.
;)

Then, she can hope to get a Christian female doctor or something.

Yes, my husband sees other women naked. He's a doctor, and it's his job to help them get better. If a patient thinks she has a yeast infection, he takes a look and a swab (with his aide or nurse there, of course). He does pap and pelvics, fibroid checks, and all sorts of things. That's his job, and he just looks at it like it's just another body that's ill and needs to be checked. There's no lust or anything weird involved.

How much do you want to bet she's never had a pap and pelvic or a breast exam. God help her if she get breast or cervical cancer.

39. Fundie masterbation. Really.
Masturbation can sometimes be wrong and it can sometimes not. If you masturbate thinking about how pretty the flowers are and how you want a puppy, essentially that's not wrong. But most times, that is not the case. I believe that when one masturbates a high percentage of the time they are fantasizing about a sexual partner therefore making masturbation lust. Lust, as the Bible states, is a sin. But masturbation is something that people in general should stay away from because it's hard not to lust whilst doing it.

46. support for pedphilia from a woman:
A man can have sexual pleasure from a child as young as a baby. However he should not penetrate, sodomising the child is OK. If the man penetrates and damages the child then he should be responsible for her subsistence all her life. This girl, however does not count as one of his four permanent wives. The man will not be eligible to marry the girl's sister.

God revealed to me two things about the timing of the rapture. God specifically told me 2007 was the year, because I was only going to have from 3 to 3 1/2 years to spread the message after my book was published.

Strangely enough, 2007rapture.com doesn't exist anymore. There is, however a website called rapture2008.com!! Wouldn't be funny if an atheist group were to buy rapture2009.com? ( it's still available from GoDaddy.com, incidentally )

58. I can't laugh. Someone help, please. This just isn't funny to me.
How many people made those posts?

They drive, vote, procreate, raise children (a new generation of like minded "people"). Some of them may be teachers or cops or on the school board. They could be pharmacists or the receptionist in your doctor's office. They could be a co-worker or a next-door neighbor.

One said "Jesus was not a Jew; he was Jewish" WTF is that?!

Another (as another poster noted) justified raping a baby. Another justified rape of women. Another wants to turn women's bodies into incubators complete with selective injections of "Christian" sperm.

They equate those who have learned evolution with atheists and relegate atheists to sub-human status to justify "killing off" the atheists.

Another argues English as the original language of the Bible. Their collective take on science could have been written during the Dark Ages. Another has her property and her daughter (perhaps the same thing) prepared for the rapture. Another would deny her daughter parenthood because she's a lesbian. Another's actions apparently led to her gay son's death.

How is any of that funny?

These people live and work among us. Maybe I need my funny-bone re-set because I don't find the idea of these people and their ideas amusing in the least.

The Hilarious one you quote makes me wonder if that person has children they'll teach that sickness to. Or if they have parents who taught it to them; and so it oozes down the generations.

As, I said, I'll leave your thread alone now.

70. Did you read the one about the girl who harrassed a fellow student?
"This past spring I was expelled from my high school. Why? Because I'm a Christian. There was a girl in my class who was wiccan, and I didn't want demons to possess me or anyone else and save her from satan. So, I told her that her faith was evil and told her to accept Jesus as Savior and she would be saved. Simple as that."

The rest of her post is seriously messed up. If I were her English teacher (if I still taught high school English), I would've taken her aside. She reminds me of a few girls I went to college with who just couldn't understand why harrassing someone about faith was wrong. I'm glad her school kicked her out. Her behavior was scary, and her classmate has every right to feel safe at school.

:banghead: Freakin' messed up Christians!

"The only solution we have to stop gays from recruiting other people is to cut off the source. They need to be taken to specialized containment centers where they will be forced to become straight and accept Jesus as thier savior and to repent from their disgusting, wicket, hatful, devilish ways. Those that refuse to go can either be forced, or banished from society in other specialized communities where they have no connetion to the outside world at all. Most would die of AIDS anyway. Anyone who refused any of the answers to make them better would have to be killed or banished."
