Wisconsin exit polls prove that McCain will be "Youthanized" in the GE
Edited on Wed Feb-20-08 12:12 PM by wuushew
Driving home lastnight I was listening to the early returns and wondering if perhaps the exit polling was preliminary.

But here we are today and apparently no one under thirty is voting for McCain. I assume N/A means that the polling results were not statistically significant, however the data for both Dem candidates is up there for all to see.

The Republican sampling size was 800 vs. 1400 for the Dems.

5. well what does that leave McCain?
The youth vote, women and African-Americans are not going to vote for him. He can't solely win on the angry white guy vote.

Is McCain banking on some secret Latino strategy?

8. We had every "youth" poll in the country on our side...
McGovern took Massachusetts and Ann Arbor, Michigan.

9. I wouldn't be so sure about the female vote
There are women I know who are really turned off by the way Obama's people are trashing Hillary. At least one woman I know will vote for McCain if Obama gets the nomination. (She's a moderate Dem). I myself backed Edwards (after Kucinich) and I am not happy with what I've seen of Obama, especially his courting of anti-gay types. I have always voted Dem though.

11. That two edged sword cuts both ways. Have you seen this?
"McCain picked up 18 percent of the black vote in a match-up with Clinton but only 3 percent against Obama, a possible sign at least some black voters would not put aside their allegiance to Obama if Clinton won the nomination.

"There could be potentially disaffected Obama supporters who will vote for Obama but not Clinton," Zogby said.

I don't think it's a good idea for one group to be threatening another that they won't support the Dem nominee, because we all lose. While some of Hillary's supporters will never support Obama, I think far more Obama supporters would never (under any circumstances) support HRC.

12. I'll bet that more disaffected female voters will decline to support Barak
The sexism the media is showing is far worse than any proported racism on the part of the Clintons. The women I am talking to are REALLY pissed.

13. McCain offers women and America in general nothing
he is an insane warmonger. Does your female acquaintance believe McCain would be a temperate and capable executive?

Voting for McCain is neither a rational or ethical decision.

14. McCain's undeserved reputation as a "maverick" still has an influence
That's why that photo with him hugging Bush is so important. That needs to get around.
