A "plagiarism" question, and a challenge
First, the challenge: Watch a McCain speech, and every time he says "My Friends", drink a shot. (don't try this if you have to drive)

Then, the question: Isn't "My Friends" a time-worn Reaganism? It seems I remember Ronnie using this term in his speeches. Ronnie: "But my friends, there were a few things the Soviets didn't count on...." So, is McCain plagiarizing?

(Forget about that challenge. It's dangerous and stupid. I'm series!!11!)

2. You lost me at "Watch a McCain speech".
I really don't think I could do that.

9. I understand. But I like it
even if I spend half the time growling at the TV, muttering "bullshit".

3. "Friends, Romans, countrymen! Lend me your ears!"
Time-worn since Shakespeare at least.

10. Yes, true, but if McCain spoke those words ...
My friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears;
My friends, I come to bury Caesar, not to praise him;
The evil that men do lives after them, my friends,
The good, my friends, is oft interred with their bones,
So let it be with Caesar ... My friends, the noble Brutus
Hath told you Caesar was ambitious...

He says "My friends", like a blacksmith wields a hammer.

4. No Big Deal
If someone used the words of another person while giving a speech, how does that make a difference? Whether or not the person is the originator of a select choice of words doesn't make a difference at all. The fact that they choose those words to express their position is what counts.

Is anybody suggesting that Obama is lying about where he stands on issues? No? Then this whole drama scene by Hillary just shows what type character she is, as well as, her desperation.

That's how I see it....

6. No issue is "at rest" until November
I'm sure McCain's minions will be googling the Democratic nominee's speeches, looking for hits.

keep posting about it. It should be over - Obama admitted he made a mistake. But some people won't let it go.

11. What a pisser! The Clinton camp starts a rumor, it gets disppelled, and the Obamites won't let it go
Those overly obsessive Obama supporters can be so annoying.
