Men in Chadors
The photo is perfect, but I don't know how to insert it here. Check it out at the New York Times:

4. Isn't it strange how men's clothing seems permanent?
How many years has the suit and long neck-tie been the thing to wear? I guess the vest and 3-piece suit is gone, but still. And then it's bizarre that the neck noose is the standard for other countries looking "civilized".

And remember, medical studies show those ties spread disease when doctors wear them!

6. Weddings and funerals. Only time I'll wear a tie. Why?
I don't know.
Convention, I guess.
Yeah, I can't believe that men still wear neckties.
They're almost as idiotic as girdles and waist-cinchers.
And needle-toed 4" heels.

7. and you know all those trends come back when the economy goes downhill
or so I read years ago - people wear more conservative / old fashioned / standard clothing when the economy goes sour. partly people dress to impress at work I guess.

Those needle-toed 4" heels are back anyway. I've seen my mom's feet from wearing those decades ago. :scared:
