Contact the FCC Re: O'Rielly "Lynching Party" comment
I strongly urge you to contact the FCC. This is an obvious violation of the standards of obscenity. Here is a link to contact them & file an actual complaint.

http://www.fcc.gov/cgb/complaints_obscene.html
PS: I did this when he suggested someone blow up Coit Tower in SF. They actually responded .

1. Thanks for the link
I certainly will email them. But I have to calm down first so that I don't get obscene as well.

2. Yes it's shameful...but this is just the beginning everyone!
They, meaning the MSM have destroyed a good candidate, HRC so that the masses will go for Obama...and when he becomes the democratic nominee...they will destroy him will all the powers they have..

Most likely causing a race war...wait and see...

I've been beating my head for days here trying to get people to see this fact...but it's Obama the great this or Obama the wonderful that...

We are all in for a terrible ride here...hope you hold on tight...

19. So are you saying
that we must never nominate a black person because the MSM will go after them and try to start a race war? This is an acceptable reason to not nominate a person of color? With all due respect, it sounds like a coward's reason to me.

But he outdid himself this time. It just boggles the mind. I don't believe he could be any more offensive if he tried.

28. He said that he would hold off on having a "lynching party" of Michelle Obama
Until he heard her side of the story. Just amazing. And insane. And incredibly revolting.

But not at all surprising from the man who thinks it amazing that black people in Harlem eat with forks and spoons like civilized people instead of throwing things at eachother like wild monkeys.

Don't forget to mention you heard it on the air. This way you have merit/standing in the complaint. It might help to include the call sign of your local RW Radio affiliate.

8. The FCC doesn't consider that obscene or indecent.
They issue fines for what they consider to be offensive discussions about sex and about excretion.

Edited on Wed Feb-20-08 09:17 PM by Boxerfan
what a freaking world...I would just E-mail 'em.

But seriously...I was watching Survivor with my young girls & just after it was over CSI comes on. They show(without warning) a girl tied up about to be tortured. I couldn't change the channel fast enough. What a freaking world. JJ's fetid little boob is considered obscene but violence is just okey dokey...

15. I Think 1,000 Of O'Reilly's Best Friends At Fox News Central...
...would do a hell of a lot more. First of all, the FCC has NO jurisdiction over cable TV content and what he said, while offensive, is not considered obscene. Yep, you can call someone the 'n' word and its totally legal...but don't dare say she has tits. You can even advocate the murder of someone on national airwaves and there's never been any reprocussion.

I think the best response would be to turn Faux into the story...turn them from the object of "news" to the subject. I'm sure Mr. O'Reilly and all those fauxophiles would love to meet all those viweers who "appreciate" the fair and balanced job they do...how about 1,000 or more of us making a regular trip to Faux Central in Manhattan...they have this nice little plaza out front that would be great for saying "hello". And be assured that NBC (right down the street) and the other news departments will both be there to cover it and will sure get a message that the viewers are tired of the bullshit.

26. O'Reilly

Listen up, O'Reilly made the statement on the radio factor, not on the FOX News O'Reilly factor.

O'REILLY: You know, I have a lot of sympathy for Michelle Obama, for Bill Clinton, for all of these people. Bill Clinton, I have sympathy for him, because they're thrown into a hopper where everybody is waiting for them to make a mistake, so that they can just go and bludgeon them.

And, you know, Bill Clinton and I don't agree on a lot of things, and I think I've made that clear over the years, but he's trying to stick up for his wife, and every time the guy turns around, there's another demagogue or another ideologue in his face trying to humiliate him because they're rooting for Obama.

That's wrong. And I don't want to go on a lynching party against Michelle Obama unless there's evidence, hard facts, that say this is how the woman really feels. If that's how she really feels -- that America is a bad country or a flawed nation, whatever -- then that's legit. We'll track it down.

--------------

No white person should ever use the word lynch or lynching when referring to any black person, ever, no matter what context. Even if it is in a joke, you should just never do it, and it is a racist comment. The statement O'Reilly made was not part of a joke, and he should not have used the word lynching when talking about a black person.

Recently a female anchor Kelly Tilghman on the golf channel joked that the other young guys on the tour should form a lynch mob and beat Tiger Woods in an alley.

She was suspended for 2 weeks, and she was clearly joking, she said it to Nick Faldo in the context of joking about how you stop Tiger from winning all the tournaments, then they both laughed at her statement, not to mention she is good friends with Tiger Woods.

O'Reilly was not joking. The comment by O'Reilly was not in the context of a joke, so I consider what O'Reilly said worse. And if she was suspended for 2 weeks, O'Reilly should get a month.

I dont think he should be fired, but he should be suspended, and maybe donate some money to a black charity, and of course give an apology for saying it.

Westwood one is the syndicator for his radio show, contact them here.
