MCCAIN CAMPAIGN ISSUES STATEMENT
Responding to the NYT story out tonight:

U.S. Senator John McCain's presidential campaign today issued the following statement by Communications Director Jill Hazelbaker:

"It is a shame that the New York Times has lowered its standards to engage in a hit and run smear campaign. John McCain has a 24-year record of serving our country with honor and integrity. He has never violated the public trust, never done favors for special interests or lobbyists, and he will not allow a smear campaign to distract from the issues at stake in this election.

19. It's Not The Sex...It's The Lobbyist...

Somehow I get the feeling the good Dr. Dobson or some of his acolytes were behind the planting and timing of this story.

Yes, the sex gets the sizzle...as we are seeing, but it's the connections between lobbyist and Commerce Committee Chairman and his intervention on her behalf that is the real fire here.

The timing is curious as McLame has emerged as the candidate the antics of the far right have gotten more desperate. They couldn't cajole enough voters to beat him on Super Tuesday, so now they'll destroy him to "save the party". Note that the Huckster...their "great white hope" is still hanging around...he's there for a reason. Also, it appears Drudge couldn't get his siren cranking fast enough to astroturf this thing. There are some interesting dynamics at work.

As we say..."stay tuned"...more shoes are sure to drop.
