A couple of stories on my skeptical antennae.... |
|
First, the story about the Navy shooting down the satelite. I don't believe them. It may have crashed in the ocean. Then, opportunists that they are, they will say they shot it down. If it had crashed on land, they would have said it was too much of a threat to civilians to shoot down. But, in the process, they can ask for billions and billions of dollars for Star Wars on a scam. Mo' money! Mo' money! Mo' money!
Secondly, the McCain story? Where did it come from? It is either a story planted by the Republican Party in order to get it out of the way early, so it does not become a big story around November OR it is a story planted by someone like Newt Gingrich so that he and Romney can take over their Party at their Convention? I am more inclined to think the first option.
Something smells about both of these stories. We need to look much deeper.

they'll ask for a gazillion dollars no matter what. "We succeeded! See? It works! Give us more money!" "We failed! What if that was an Iranian missile? Give us more money!"
As for McCain, I guarantee you this is repuke inoculation. Just as you say. Get it out now, while clinton and Obama are beating each other up. The Murkan collectiv memory is about 12 weeks. By the GE, they'll totally forget this and believe whatever feel-good story the media cooks up about John McCrazy-McBush.

2. Drudge had the report on McCain back in December |
|
It didn't get any play then. LA Times sitting on the story so the Times had to print. I suspect there is truth there.

3. You know what they say |

Once a cheater, always a cheater. I bet that McCain is true.
As for the Navy story, I think the debris is going to take some time to fall to Earth. And it will disperse over a wide area. I'm positive it happened, but if we don't hear anything about debris falling, I'll reconsider...

8. I presumed that's one of the reasons they wanted to destroy it |
|
But, that the amount of debris depended on where the missile hit the satellite.
Of course, if any of it doesn't burn up, I hope it lands on my car so that I can sue the government :P

4. I always assume anyone in the Pentagon is lying, since.. |
|
that's what they do best. But, assuming they're lying isn't the same as believing that everything they say is a lie.
McCain? Who cares. After all the Clinton sex scandals Scaife paid to orchestrate, he won, didn't he?
We're finally catching up to the French-- who wouldn't trust anyone who couldn't get a little on the side.
