the fact the mush man in pakistan is the new baby doc? that iraq is still a sewer and afghanland is exploding at the seems? Or are the morons* that be, trying to take our eye off of the presidential race and how the Dems are basically going to clean the repukes clock come november? Or that oil is now comfortably above 100 a barrel and not looking back? Or that we are sliding headlong into a major ass recession the likes of which could prove to be actually a depression? or that morons* approval numbers are historically the worst ever?

Or is there something out there, percolating that is worse than all of the above combined that is about to break or is breaking but has been relegated to page 25 next to the obits to make sure no one sees it?

4. Five Refineries have had explosions in the last week. That might

be what the distraction is. Why are these refineries exploding? Some have been posted here on DU with breaking CNN ...and then you can't find the info again.

BTW...the five explosions came from CNBC..in a "quick news update" this Tuesday morning...and was never reported again. I looked for it on their site...nothing. And, this is CNBC/GE...not some gossip.

I know maintenance was an issue with the BP explosions in Texas last year. But, five in one week...and it's reported once...then disappears? There's one report over on DU Latest Breaking..which might have gone down to page 2 by now...but that was just one...and a DU'er on the thread could see it miles away...in West Texas..

6. The Local Hate Radio Station

I tuned in and what was the burning topic the host was all livid about? It was Michelle Obama's "patriotism" and how she must hate America. McCain? Of course he's the ultimate hero...and the New York Times is a commie rag. It was far more important to whine about what she meant by "until now" and "proud"...and how she needs to appologize to the "real" Amuricans.

You're only getting played if you let yourself. Many people I know aren't being distracted by the sideshows...they just can't wait to vote this regime and its enablers into history.
