He never did favors for anyone, but did they do favors for him?

If It was not a romantic relationship, then what was it.

Did McCain talk to the NY Times about this or not?

Is Cindy McCain a robot or just a puppet?

Is McCain using any prescription "ED" drugs? I wonder if he'd answer that question.

1. Old men don't have "close platonic friendships" with young women--

they don't. If it got to the point that John Weaver and others had to keep this woman away, he was fucking her. Come on, people.

5. Why on earth was this woman on campaign appearances with him--flying
across the country? It doesn't add up--she did not have a role in his campaign, after all. Are we to believe there was nothing personal there? I don't usually take trips with old guys I meet in brief professional situations.

2. Sure! Mr. Keating Five wouldn't do anything sleezy or underhanded,
would he????

<snip>

Some regulators noted the danger and pushed for more oversight, but Congress refused. Some of this may be due to the Keating Five, five Senators (Dennis DeConcini, Alan Cranston, John Glenn, Don Riegle and Keating's good friend John McCain) who had received some $300,000 from Keating in the 1980s as political contributions. They later met twice with regulators who were investigating American Continental Corp., in an attempt to end the investigation. (In 1990, they would be rebuked to various degrees by the Senate Ethics Committee.)

3. McCain and lobbyists
So if he dislikes lobbyists and everything they stand for, why was she traveling with him back then? Personally, I think the bigger story is his blatant flip-flop on torture. In October, he used Giuliani's remarks on torture to jump on him. So in less than four months, his position has changed?

From "Think Progress, Oct 26, 2007:
Speaking in Iowa on Thursday, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), who 40 years ago today was shot down, captured, and tortured by the North Vietnamese, took issue with Giuliani and Mukasey. McCain denounced waterboarding as clear-cut torture:

“Anyone who knows what waterboarding is could not be unsure. It is a horrible torture technique used by Pol Pot and being used on Buddhist monks as we speak,” said McCain after a campaign stop at Dordt College here.

“People who have worn the uniform and had the experience know that this is a terrible and odious practice and should never be condoned in the U.S. We are a better nation than that.”
