The NY Times Under A Microscope |
|
The conservatives are manning their battle stations. They are ready to do battle with their arch nemesis, the NY Times. The latest story by the Times accuses John McCain, the sure Republican nominee for the Presidency, of having an affair and of currying favors for his lover's special interest. How could they have broken this story at this time! Just before the nomination!
But I do think they protesteth just a little too much. This is not the first time that the NY Times has screwed a political Party, and some say, screwed the country. Just 4 years ago, they were holding on to a story about George W Bush breaking the FISA laws and spying on millions of Americans. They met privately with the White House and were convinced by them that it was in the "national interest" to keep that story under wraps. Consequently, George W Bush was "re-elected" and our country has suffered dramatically because of the decision of the NY Times.
There is much more to this story but the conservatives have no reason, no reason at all, to act as if they have been crapped upon. Not after what they have done to the rest of us.

1. Judith Miller is an arch enemy? |
|
And remember how the Times sat on the stories about SWIFT and the lump under Bush's jacket during the debate. You just scream "liberal press" to give yourself cover!

up to be accused of falsehoods NOW. McCain can point to the Miller stories in support of HIS stand (IMO, also lies--the irony!).
The NYT got in bed with dogs, woke up with fleas.

3. I know--it's too pathetic |

Judy Miller, sitting on the FISA story... when it suits the Republicans they don't complain about the NYT's inserting itself into politics.
