Is the NY Times story part of a Bush Family plot?
Sheer speculation here but could they be trying to throw open the GOP convention so Jeb can get the nomination via the proverbial smoke filled room?

1. That'd be great. A B*sh on the ticket would kill the gop quicker.

2. I think the Bush family is finished in American politics for a few decades
At least as far as POTUS is concerned

3. With W boasting a 19% approval... What do you think Jeb would
poll at?

21% vs a dead frog?

Yep, W has destroyed the Bush name for a long while.

5. Far too early to break out Jebby Boy..
Expect that to happen in 2012 or 2016. He can ride in on his pony and say he is there to save the Republican Party and "return it to its former glory" :puke: Mark my words, Jeb will be a Republican nomminee at some point in the future.

6. NO. Bush SR. just endorsed "John" McCain. This was a surprise. It came out in Dec.
and McCain hired a legal hit man, Robert Bennett, and it seemed to
have gone away, until the story broke in the NY Times. Here are the details:

Kurtz Carried McCain's Link to Lobbyist Rumor Last December

And the locked convention will nominate Cheney!

7. OTOH maybe the #41 endorsement was a fake-out or a smoke-screen
for the original premise.

12. Oh, Jesus Christ.
This is the problem with conspiracy theories. Whenever there's evidence to counter the theory, the theorist says, "Even more reason to believe a cover-up!"

14. I think it's just the right-wing hate machine having a spasm.

They've built a system that's designed to do nothing more than push these types of stories into the headlines. It's generally used on Democrats, of course-- but the CPAC crowd really despises McCain. I expect they got this story rolling without any real plan. They only know that they hate McCain, and this is what they do to people they hate.
