1. they make their masters money
if they stopped doing that, they'd be gone, and a new lineup of haters would take their place.

2. Truer words have never been spoken
Yes, they're hatemongers. But they direct their hate in very specific directions.

Usually directions that make $$$ for those in power.

3. It's very easy to understand.

Every person that listens to or watches one of their programs constitutes a set of eyeballs that are sold to advertisers.

That is the reason Imus is on the air. And it's the reason Olbermann's on the air. Neither of them would be kept if their ability to attract viewers were to stop. Advertisers don't pay television networks out of the goodness of their hearts. They pay the network to provide X viewers.

Ever wonder why Olbermann can be on the same network as Chris Matthews and Joe Scarborough?

Hmm...

And just in case it comes up: I'm a huge Olbermann fan.

7. Give all credit to ray-gun who did away with the fairness doctrine
and gave birth to today's right wing trash heroes who mightily fear the fairness doctrine, swearing to tell the truth and drug tests.

8. If Don Imus were a Loyal Bushie, he would have gotten a raise.
And then the radio stations would have printed "Nappy Headed Hoes" t-shirts to promote his show.
