Big Appreciation Thread for DUer ** veness **

I just wanted to give a shout out and BIG "Thank You!" to veness, for being such a wonderful human being.

Last week I did a post about my friend "Muffi", another wonderful lady who wasn't going to be with us much longer.

This other wonderful DUer, veness, took it upon herself to print the post out, with all of the replies, then bought a card and some flowers and delivered them to Muffi at her home. The card was signed from "all your friends at DU"...

Today, I got a card and letter in the mail from Muffi. They were very short notes, as she said she has difficulty with writing now. Muffi said the replies in the post were "very touching and meaningful" and that she "loved the beautiful, fragrant flowers" and wanted to thank all of DU for them and for their well wishes.

Muffi also said to "please thank that lovely gal from DU who brought the flowers and note".

She said this will probably be the last time that I hear from her though, because she is "ready to go". She said that she does not have to be alone, but chooses to be so, and that her friends & family are very supportive. She also stated that she "wished Arizona was as progressive as Oregon on assisted death but.... I hope I can go soon". It's heart wrenching for me, but it's also a comfort knowing that she's doing things on her terms, just as she always has.

Once again, Thank You, veness, for being so wonderful and unselfish with your time, your finances and your soul. What you did touched this dear lady's heart, as it did mine.

DUers are some of the greatest people ever.

Some are just infected right now with primary virus, but soon they will heal and we will have even more DUers to love.
