Appreciation to the Moderators and Administrators of DU.

I can't actually imagine anything more difficult than trying to moderate or administer discussions at this moment in our history, either political or otherwise, when opinions are so volatile and vitriolic.

It's easy to dislike the hands that feed us, but it is really a better idea to appreciate this place for what it has accomplished.

I just want to express my gratitude for:

1. That DU exists.
2. That its principles are so lenient, allowing the expression of a multitude of opinions.
3. And that DU is fair, even though I get frustrated by the rules. The rules are good rules, and intelligent rules, and if I was a DU moderator I would make the same rules.

2. Agreed. The rules don't frustrate me, my inability to abide sometimes does.

But not as much as it frustrates the Admin/Mods, though I'm sure.

It might be nice if there was some way to improve quality and civility.

Of course, leniency might be the only thing keeping me alive :scared:

As a former Moderator, allow me to say thank you for your thread!

Even in non-election times, this is a tough place to moderate in...and I was in the Lounge!

It is a very hard job, and often misunderstood, or not appreciated, or both...
