There is no question GW Bush used Tony Blair, and Great Britian.
My question is this- The British people clearly saw through Bush's lies- Yet Blair allowed himself and Britian to be put on Bush's leash. Why???
In the end it destroyed Blair's politcal career. What was he thinking?

In the nightmarish chance McCain is elected, and if he gets his wish on expanding war into Iran, will Gordon Brown stand up to Mccain, or will he fall to his knees as did Blair?

1. Blair's top American advisor (2001-2007) urged him to stand with Bush on his terrorism and Iraq war

2. anglo solidarity?
bush represented the aristocracy, of both US and England, regardless of everything. If Britain never helped bush, then the American people would not allow the war- and bush be ruined. Also, the 911 setup might get exposed, something the entire ruling elite opposed to (bush gottem by the balls, gettit?)
So there you have it, imho. bush steals 2k election with complicity of the mass media...then bush's handlers mihop/lihop 911, to burn the bridges on everyone who aided/abetted bush, force them to, at least, not openly oppose the busheviks, and let bush get away with murder...tony blair was just upholding his 'class' by supporting bush (even despite massive opposition)...he doing what Al Gore did, only at greater personal cost (btw, almost any crime such as murdering David Kelly etc dwarfed by the sheer enormity of 911- something the schemers depend upon)

Al Gore’s announcement that he will not seek the Democratic presidential nomination in 2004 says a great deal about the state of the American political system and the Democratic Party.
<snip>
In other words, a second Gore-Bush contest would inevitably raise the overtly anti-democratic manner in which the 2000 election crisis was resolved, and bring into question the legitimacy of the Bush administration. In his desire to avoid such issues, Gore reflects a preoccupation of the entire ruling elite and both political parties.

3. I think a little blackmail was set up at the pig ranch.
Seems like a lot of leaders did a 180 after visiting Crawford.

4. An English friend thinks that Blair is an old-fashioned
"white man's burden" type, who likes to excuse Third World ventures by telling himself that he's "civilizing" the brown people.

But blackmail is equally likely.

5. Not British but could AT&T's blackmail ops have found info on Blair or other VIPs
in Great Britain in the early days in 2001 or 2002 that was used to persuade Blair to go along? If Cheney used domestic spying to discover that British VIPs were involved in anything crooked that might get them in trouble in UK, then that info could have been used to pressure them to pressure Blair. Blair might not even know.

More likely theory is that it was British oil interests that wanted a piece of the Iraqi oil action.

6. UK and US are allies in the same imperial system.
This was true before Bush & Blair.

The only open break there's ever been was back during the UK's Suez attack.

7. And then there's this...
Referring to the CIA moving prisoners to other countries for torture.

"...In an embarrassing reversal after years of denial, Britain admitted Thursday that its military outpost on the Indian Ocean island of Diego Garcia had twice been used as a refueling stop for the secret transport of terrorism suspects."

8. He wanted to prove to Middle England that he could work with a Republican President

Not that he was terribly bothered whether Middle England actually wanted this in bush's case...
