Quote from friday night's Bill Moyers.
while talking about Afghanistan. But I'm posting it here because it has a wide application to many areas of our lives and for me, at least, was a reminder and an encouragement.

"SARAH CHAYES: I don't think that hope is relevant. I think determination is all that counts. You just have to try. It doesn't matter if you hope you're going succeed or not. You have to keep trying."

1. That was one of the most troubling interviews I've seen
in a long long time. We sit here at DU fussing over shit while Afghanistan, Iraq and the rest of the world is going to hell, thanks to US.

2. Indeed!
How many 'news-readers' (loosely referred to as journalists) have you heard say, "now that the surge is working. . ." or "the war in Afghanistan is over" or other lies about what is really happening over there. But, as long as our walmart is open and we can drive through mcdonald's for heart attack food, to hell with the rest of the world and what is being done in our name. :puke:

3. Moyers always seems to have high quality shows.
with lots of information. There's been a lot to trouble most of us throughout the Bush administration. Heck, he's even get most of the conservatives mad at him as well. My dream and hope is that whoever moves into the White House next January will reverse most of what he's done over the last 8 years. Bush has no morals.

4. I agree, Bill Moyers is one of the true journalists still working in America
It almost makes me want to donate to my local PBS station, ALMOST. They erase that desire everytime I listen to the Bush propaganda that they present as the "news".
