Question about the stimulus check

Is the check an advance on next year's refund, or is it a gift from the government?

1. I haven't heard a definite answer on that question so I am going to treat it as it is a loan

and use it accordingly. We're going to let it set in our savings account until after filing our next years taxes just to make sure as I don't trust bush/cheney to be giving us anything. I remember the last time the ones I know who were squealing the loudest when they found out that it was only an advancement were the ones who I suspected to be ones who voted for the bastids in the first place.

2. They're calling it a rebate

but I don't know what that means either. You're right it's best to assume the worst.

3. The last one had one good aspect in it for me and that was I was pretty much able

to confirm, in my mind anyway, that my friends who I thought were really in the closet repukes to begin with were by listening to their rants about it when they had to pay the money back. All of us know some republics I think and I just feel it is in my better interest to be able to identify those friends as what they truly are rather than what I wished they were. ;-)
