Amusing Incident heard on cable news
First I want to say I hope I picked the right place to post this. Because it's not really related to politics, but to a news person. That being Chris Matthews

So, I was watching TV and the newsperson said this: "Chris Matthews said that when he "heard" Obama speak in person he got a "tingle" up his leg." Could one of the males tell me exactly what that means? I'm serious. I've never got a tingle up my leg listening to anyone speak. I have been moved and felt emotional sadness, or happiness - by some speeches. But never a tingle. I asked my son and my brother and my husband what it meant. They didn't know. I seek information and hope someone can explain this to me.

I didn't hear Chris Matthews say this himself, and I believe CNN reported this. I can't be sure which channel I was watching.

1. Tweety said it a couple of weeks ago, and I thought that was a pretty bizarre assertion...
... even for "stream-of-unconsciousness" Matthews!

6. Normally, yeah I would think that
But I just asked my husband again, and he said that he definiely had not had a "tingle" up his leg over a speech or "anything" else. Yeah, I've had sort of I can't say goosebumps exactly. Just a great exhilaration or great disappointment over a speech. Sometimes they put me to sleep even. I have questioned 3 men on this. Do you think I should e-mail Chris Matthews and ask him what he meant? If he had said "I was so moved I had tears in my eyes". I heard John McCain say that about a movie, and I understood. Because I had a lot of tears in my eyes over the same TV Movie. Just don't get the "tingle" up the leg.

It means Chris Matthews is nuts

What? What did he say about the "manly" smell? This is beginning to sound very gay to me.

19. Here's the quote:
Can you smell the English leather on this guy, the Aqua Velva, the sort of mature man's shaving cream, or whatever, you know, after he shaved? Do you smell that sort of -- a little bit of cigar smoke? You know, whatever.

7. If you get real drunk on a very cold night and piss yourself, then maybe
You get a tingle run down your leg, but otherwise I think it might be a sign of diabetes.

10. Well thanks anyway
I'm trying to recall if anything like that happened to me. I injured my leg one time and it hurt, it didn't tingle. I promise. I see I'm just gonna have to e-mail Chrissy and ask him what he meant.
I've scoured my brain and can't remember a tingle. Wait, wait - I do. When my foot goes to sleep, it gets numb, but when it thaws out, it starts to tingle. But my whole leg has never gone to sleep before, so no tingle.

Listen, I was eating at the kitchen bar when this came on, and I nearly choked on my wine. And when I choke sometimes I must have the heimlich manuever applied. I could have died because of strangulation from laughing so hard.

13. Thanks to you
I can't find anyone who knows what it means. I heard it one day last week. Mid-week probably. I was away from news sources on Monday because I was away from my house. One does have to grocery shop and go to the bank, mall, etc. I was just amazed. I'm glad I don't watch the idiot.

15. Tweety Isn't A News Person...
He's a bobblehead...a political junkie/spinner. He's the beltway equivelent of the gossip columnist who spreads the dish. There's little "news" or "reporting" in what he does as it's all based on his gut and viewpoint. If your spin agrees with how he feels, he gushes...if you've pissed in his cornflakes, he'll snear and snarl at the very mention of your name. It's truly bi-polar...like the kid in grade school who is either your friend or your enemy. Nuance is not what turns Tweety's wheels...it's ego and power. His world is limited and all he cares is that those inside of it are either amused or impressed.

30. Thanks for the reply
I had seen the expression on here, and wondered what it meant. It's not difficult for me to weed out the fuzzy wuzzies. They spout their opinions all the time. It's really sort of an amusement for me. They all think the public citizen is stupid, and that we can not discern between truth and opinion. What I hate is when they say something as fact instead of saying "I think", or "I believe" so and so. It's like Bill Maher saying "There is no God". He should say "I don't 'believe' in God". He doesn't know if there is or isn't a God, obviously. Billions around the world disagree with him. Now you will notice in my post, I do give the when, why, what, where etcs. of good reporting. Although I have no idea why I heard this on CNN, or if they were making fun of Chris Matthews.

32. Could be
I did wonder 'what the heck'. I am totally befuddled by those comments. I grilled my husband again and he is completely puzzled over the tingle thing. I told him what someone said about C.M. saying someone smelled like a man, and he just rolled his eyes.

33. Ha-Ha - I've never been that moved
By any speech in that way. Occasionally when I sneeze really hard, yes. But not by a speech. Guess we will never know. I should sue CNN for causing me to strangle because the whole thing struck me so funny.
