C-Span NOW! Anyone listening to American Enterprise Institute Cabal to Run the New President ?

Norm Ornstein and the other "Leaders" telling the new President how he will run the New Government...

It's been frightening to me so far...as to what they will do to us in the "liberal blogosphere."

Unity Government...that won't address...what happened with Bush. It's about appointing "wise ones" to force the New President to put Bi-Partisans in the Administration who will work together like Trent Lott and Lee Hamilton and Bob Dole worked together...

Norm Ornstein says we need "Insiders" who will be in charge...starting November 5th.. And...the "groups on both sides" need to know that the new Government will expect COMPROMISE from them...for the good of the country.

Ornstein is particularly disappointing...but AEI...is seeming to want to "run the show." They've got some elderly man on saying that the New President should appoint Commissions like Eisenhower did...and Leon Panetta is saying that we need the "wise people who are sworn to secrecy so that the President can have "confidential discussions" that won't be leaked to the press. (sheesh...Leon...didn't we have secret everything with Bush/Cheney?)

Also Norm Ornstein is talking about our Deficit is so bad that the priority for the New President is to Deal with the Entitlements like Social Security and Medicaid/Medicare. Nothing about National Health Insurance is said except in saying that we have a budge crises and there won't be any money unless we tackle the Entitlements. :scared:

10. Here's some more of what I heard....I was hoping DU Politico's would be watching...but here...

because I'm telling you it's something we DU'ers who care deeply about what any new administration will be about...need to see what the AEI...is planning for us.

Now...there were a few good proposals by Ornstein... He was asking that the day after November 5th...that the New President will start assembling his Government. He requested that the Five Key Leaders from both House and Senate meet with the New President and talk about the pressing issues that will need to be addressed. He said the Cabinet officers should be prepared to give the New President an "outline" of all the issues he will be faced with in the "turnover" of staff.

Ornstein also said that Susan Collins and Joe Lieberman were key people AEI had requested to draw up plans for the New Administration but so far they hadn't done much because "Collins is being contested for her seat" (LOL's)

Ornstein said that "President Bush should draw up a list of the most important issues that the New President will have to deal with so that we aren't left in a vacuum between Election Day and Inauguration Day." He said that he hopes Bush will comply with this.

To make a long story short...Ornstein was recommending that the New President "Hits the Ground Running" because the "transition" takes to long as it's currently been done. AEI wants all the Cabinet Posts and Top Staff picked BEFORE Inauguration Day..and he wants the FBI to "relax it's vetting of Cabinet Posts" because he says the "process takes to long."

its amazing how so many people under one roof can be proven so wrong about so many things.

of course, they're in direct competition with the heritage foundation for that title.

12. I tried to give a synopsis....because it was incredible the "detail" of what AEI

has set down for our New President. To be fair, there were a few proposals that sounded very good and workable...but the bulk of what they proposed gave this Populist DU'er the "chills."

BUT...AEI is probably the Top Influencial Think Tank... What they say...will probably be the pressure a new Dem President faces... and what I heard was..."UNIITY GOVERNMENT" (meaning "no investigations" of how we got our Huge Deficit that we will have to give up our entitlements for) or the WAR CRIMES of BUSH/CHENEY.

This is an insight into what concepts they are going to be advancing. Expect to see these lame ideas recycled onto the Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, Washington Post, NBC, and AP. Fox News too, of course!

P-es me off that warmongering creeps like these can get free air time. What about environmental groups or veterans? Health care reformers? Youth??

19. I've been searching myself...it followed the Big Govenor's Convention with Immelt and Friedman

and C-Span must have changed their schedule. I'll keep looking tonight for it. I don't understand WHY when C-Span Changes their Schedule...they don't always post it.

16. I heard it!

(most of it at least) You know what pissed me off the most? I don't remember who said it, but they said that all the hard drives in all of the offices would be erased or whatever. I guess they don't want us to find out ANYTHING about the way they ran our Govt. for 8 years. I did think that our candidates should be prodded to listen to all the garbage they were spewing!! It was interesting to a Govt. outsider to hear and realize just how important the transition team is, and how they need co-operation from both parties to expedite things. They however did mention Collins and Lieberman, along with Henry Waxman, who are on the committee, be a part of the transistion team, and that..........made me physically ILL!!

even though I could accept about a Quarter of what there proposals were...as stuff I could go along with...what I posted as my worries about it. And, what you say were the other Three Quarters..that gave me pause.
There was NEVER in that WHOLE THING ...ANY recognition of what BUSH/CHENY should be HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR.

It was "Move On.."...we have BIG PROBLEMS TO DEAL WITH....and just "forget the past" unless you want "Unity Government" or to go back to that Elderly Man from Eisenhower's Administration was proposting.
(I was wondering if they shouldn't have kind of "gotten the hook to pull that guy off the stage.) :-(
