Laura Bush: "as historians look at his presidency, there are so many, many accomplishments"

http://www.businesswire.com/portal/site/google/?ndmViewId=news_view&newsId=20080227005744&newsLang=en

<snip>

Q Do you worry that all of this talk will tarnish your husband's legacy?

MRS. BUSH: No, I really don't. I really don't. I think that over the long term, as historians look at his presidency, there are so many, many accomplishments. And I think that that's what will -- when the partisan rancor is gone, that that's what will show up.

Destroying the country of Iraq. Allowing thousands of citizens to drown in NOLA. Losing all required papers and documents. Creating a huge number of homeless, hungry, and ill people. Destroying the US military.

7. Depends on what the definition of accomplishments is
If fucking up the entire US economy, nearly starting WW-III, removing most environmental protections and putting millions out of work an accomplishment then I guess you could come to those conclusions or should I say delusions

The top 1% have been enriched beyond their wildest dreams.

FDR's New Deal policies are in peril and the country is bankrupt for all intents and purposes.

Regulatory agencies that don't regulate.

A military/industrial complex on a murderous rampage.

Stripping away of our civil rights.

*bushco is a gop'ers wet dream. Mission accomplished.

On edit: I forgot - he gets away with all this!

18. Sure there are accomplishments, look at the new crop of billionaires. Cheney must have made a few
billion himself on his holdings alone. It will take years to pay back the debt while oil companies are making record profits. So many Indians have a much better lifestyle then ever before. The Chinese economy is booming.

The American middle class has all but disappeared. We've finally returned to those days of noblesse oblige. Yacht sales are up.

29. Hahahah..."So many, many, accomplishments"
1. Do not call list
2. Set the economy back 60 years
3. Ignored alarm bells on climate disaster
4. Caused global unrest on an unprecedented scale.

Indeed, the list goes on, but I wouldn't call the Rushmore sculptors for a sitting quite yet.

Of course, she and "W" will go to their graves thinking their grandkids grandkids will be foisted upon the shoulders of a nation grateful for not being awakened early by telemarketers.

It's always "history's yet to decide" when the news is bad for this Pollyanna administration, be it the economy, climate change, or foreign policy, and it takes hundreds of years to see the benefits of a president's effect.

After all, I can't go to the book store without seeing a book arguing whether Herbert Hoover or George Washington was the greatest president ever.

I predict phone books of the future will be filled with changed names like "Bursh", "Buth" and "Bunch" as unrelated families tire of the stigmaatic questions of their heritage.

Hahahahahahaha

30. Good grief! The woman is as sick as her husband.
I have news for you, Laura Bush: your husband's Presidency will go down in history as a monumental FAILURE.

A HUGE MISTAKE.

An incredibly BAD MOMENT IN AMERICAN HISTORY.

Your husband is a liar, a hypocrite, he started a war that is responsible for the death of tens of thousands (we may never really know the true numbers), he has bankrupted our country, taken us to levels of corruption, cronyism, and deceit previously unknown in American government.

Your husband and his administration allowed the worst terrorist attack on American soil in history because of their irresponsibility, ineptness, and ignorance.

He has proven the saying that ANYONE can be President, because we literally scraped the bottom of the barrel with your husband. We would have been better with a cracked up coke whore in the Oval Office than with George. At least the coke whore would have had moments of sanity.

And you, Laura, have been a disgrace of a First Lady. You've contributed nothing during your time in the White House.

You and your family are an American disgrace. A parasite sucking the life out of democracy. You should be ashamed of yourself, if you had any shame but you do not.

Furthermore, no one cares what you think. You are a murderer, an enabler, and you enjoy watching others suffer. There are no words currently in existence that adequately describe you and your family.

As the prime clinical example of a person's incredible ability to manufacture their own reality in the face of monumental and overwhelming evidence. Her contribution to the literature of enabling self-deceiving pill-popping perpetual disassociation syndrome will be the single biggest contribution made by anyone, ever to the annals of psychological study.

She is beyond ever being confused by facts. "Facts? What facts? Where?" is her motto.
