1. Hoesktra is a real jerk
He is the one who used his authority to put out the lies about Iran's nuclear weapons, in order to pave the way for Cheney to start another war. / Yes he does have an opponent. Western Michigan Dutch. Good luck. FEC says the Hoekstra opponent has so far only raised 9000 dollars. /

The Democratic candidates are Fred Johnson and Freddie Lee Johnson, III. Fred Johnson has rasied 8200 dollars. And and a Scott Michael Killips. It is Michigan's Second Congressional District. Only Democratic area in the district is Muskegon.Hoekstra has raised 299 ,000 dollars, even tho the district in impossible.

3. I grew up in Hoekstra's district, and have family members there now.
My little red county is north of Muskegon. Bizarrely, it went for Granholm AND Stabenow in '06.

Unfortunately, Ottawa County to the south has a huge, ultra conservative population.

If the dems had a really good candidate, it might be possible to start making inroads, at least.

4. Hmmm . . .
My little red county is ALSO north of Muskegon. Wonder if it's the same one? How far north are you?

5. Ottawa was once tied to Kent county.
After the Richard Nixon scandal, Kent country actually elected a Democratic Congressman. Only for one term. / As a successor to Gerald Ford. Won't happen again any time soon.

6. Hey, try this PIG.

Dave Camp, last word in GOP fucktards, and immovable thanks to the rePUKE legislature under ENGLER who gerrymandered this district so it includes Traverse City (rePuke stronghold), Midland (gives rePuke a new meaning), and poor old Owosso. A district shaped like a snake that requires about 20 minutes to cross and 3 hours to travel the length of.

2. Why should anyone bother?
Hoekstra has his seat locked up for however long he wants it. He represents the Michigan Bible Belt.
