What are the positive virtues and values of Republican ideology? |
|
Um, never mind, I can't think of a single one, since their party now stands for hatred of gays, muslims and immigrants, and the lust for war and killing, and the expectation that everyone must worship Jesus.
I try to understand the mindset of Republican, but can't get past the fact their ideology is just so repellent, and hate-based.

3. It's helpful to understand the enemy if you want to defeat them |
|
And I find Republicans hard to understand, as their ideology is mired with contradiction and double standards..They claim to be a 'culture of life', but in fact crave killing and death. They claim to want fiscal responsibility, but embrace the opposite. They claim want small less intrusive government, but are responsible for massive government bloat and erosion of our civil liberties.

4. It makes them feel good about themselves... |

if people are getting what they deserve, then there is no reason you should feel bad that you're too fucking greedy and heinous to do anything about it!

5. I frequently ask people this question: What good have republicans done |
|
for the people of the US?
I have yet to get a direct answer.
When I asked this to a "republican defender" Democratic voter that graduated first in her class from a major university, she could not answer me - she was genuinely stupefied. She actually had to spend hours on the internet to find information on something genuinely productive that republicans had done, and came some obscure bill on water rights in New Mexico that was co-authored by Democrats.
This is why I think bipartisanship is a fairy tale. Republicans have no positive productive ideas, and it is basically impossible to work with them because their entire ideology is a party line based sham that has the primary purpose of keeping republicans in power so that they can protect and foster corporate control of our government.

6. Plus isn't it odd how they worship Ronald Reagan, |
|
when he gutted funding for American schools, and dismantled so many programs that were designed to help people in need? In so many ways Regan was the antithesis of FDR (our greatest president ever) , which could be why the Repugs despise the great FDR with ever fiber of their being.

7. exactly. Reagan once quipped that we should be afraid of the government's help |
|
when if you think about it, we should BE the government, not be afraid of the government.

8. Perhaps they can hate and still feel good about it? |

Republican Party is the hate party- (you need to hate gays, immigrants, latinos, etc)- And in Repugworld, hating others based on race or sexuality, in their pea sized minds,is a good thing...
ugh!!
If only the Republicans would just hate themselves....

9. They CLAIM TO want smaller government and a balanced budget. |
|
That would be admirable if it were true.
