Moderators, a Made in America thread?
Being in the market for a set of headphones for my CPU, it dawned on me that there might not be an American made pair. Lately I have been trying my hardest to buy only American made products, a sweet pair of sandals from Hawaii, and some board shorts for the summer from Mangrovemonkey out of Naples, Florida. Socks I get from American Apparel out of Los Angeles, California. Jeans, it's just plain hard to find American made Jeans, mine are now five years old and counting. The posters could discuss quality and locations along with new product, kind of like a consumer reports but only for American products.

1. I'll sign up for this forum! I've been trying to buy American as ...
well, and especially, not buy Chinese-made! That is the hardest part to do, since everything seems to be made in China!

2. It's hard to do at first that's why I thought a forum would be a good idea.
These boards shorts are well made, great for surfing.

3. Right, cause you certainly wouldn't want any non-American to get anything out of you
buying something? I mean the nerve of non-Americans thinking they can have a job or get anything. Jobs? Those are for red blooded Mericans. These foreigners think they are equal human beings or something?

And just because sadly there are some here who do actually believe that :sarcasm:

12. And if they had enough sense to have been born American they wouldn't have to
do that, right? And I mean it was like, what, 600, 700 years ago that that was going on here? Or was it within the last century that you could have been talking about American workers conditions?

14. So if forigners don't have healthcare, and a 401k offered to them
then they should not try to better their lives, they should just go back to their couple of pieces of boards and tin and leave any attempts to better ones lives to people in countries that have already gotten rid of sweatshops.

Guess a country's labor movement has to start at second or third base for you to care.

17. Since you don't seem to grasp the concept of Made in America, I have a present for you

I don't think I need to read about how bad we are treating Foreign workers in our quest to buy American made goods. People like yourself, who are happy buying cheap foreign crap, will never understand the American Dream or the plight of the middle class and the manufacturing base we sent to your beloved Foreign countries.

Goodbye.

20. Ah yes because the folks in Germany who made my Sennheiser headphones
all work in sweat shops. :eyes:

But I suppose it's easier for folks on both sides of the issue to just spout out extremes than consider there might be a middle ground here...

10. WTF
We've outsourced our lives to cheap fucking imports. Go beat the brush for sympathy elsewhere, YOU need to get more fiber in your fucking diet.

Virtually NOTHING you can buy is made here anymore, NOTHING. Go read the labels.

Enabler. That's all you are.
