Senate Democratic leader pledges to continue trying to end the war

CAPITOL HILL (AP) -

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid vows to continue trying to end the Iraq war
even though he lacks the votes to force a troop withdrawal.

After two days of discussion, Democrats have been forced to shelve proposals by
Senator Russ Feingold that would have cut off money for combat and demanded a new
strategy for defeating al-Qaida.

Republicans refused to advance the bill, and a final vote was not cast on either measure.

Reid says the Senate will debate this spring whether to approve an additional $100
billion for the war. He says the Senate will also consider legislation to rein in
contractor abuse.

Senate Democrats are planning to meet next Wednesday to discuss their strategy on the war issue.

All you have to do is refuse to bring the damned appropriations bill to the full Senate for a vote. Just bottle it up. Just take your lighter and burn the damn thing right in front of the C-Span camera. Just leave it in the GOP bathroom right on top of the rest of the toilet paper (they do have their own potties, don't they? So much more secure for a little undercover dalliance with Larry or the Depends boy.)

What the hell is with this guy? Did he miss parliamentary procedure 101 way back when? What an asshole. And on top of this, speaking of the diaper boy, Reid was one of seven alleged democrats who voted with the repiggies on Vitter's bill to deny federal funding to for abortions to native American women.

Reid and Vitter; what a lovely pair. Smarmy, rich, comfortable white guys whose idea of empathy is making sure their favorite lobbyists have enough smoked salmon and imported Chardonnay to keep the bribes flowing.

Have I failed to mention how useless, content-free and disgusting the democratic majority has been for the past year? Do I need to?
