8 Years Of Horror Forces Family From Home (foreclosed due to Stalker)
8 Years Of Horror Forces Family From Home

GAHANNA, Ohio -- For the past eight years, the Petree family in Gahanna has been through the horror of being stalked.

Their stalker, Andrew Zukowski, was convicted of stalking in 2003 and sentenced to time in a psychiatric hospital in Columbus. The conviction was then overturned after it was determined Zukowski was incompetent to stand trial in the first place.

Zukowski was let out and, in 2007, the Petree family secured their second Civil Protection Order against the 62-year-old man.

...

Petree said they are unable to sell their home because they must disclose that it has a stalker, leaving them no choice but to foreclose on their home this month.

1. His reason to stalk the family is surreal. . .
"He's obsessed with this thing and this thing happens to be our house and we happen to live in this thing that he's obsessed with," said Jamie Petree.

He's stalking the family because of the home they live in. I wonder what tortured memories the place holds for him, and why he hasn't torched the place if it so possesses him.

We could all outlive Methuselah and never understand in the least all that motivates people.

2. It sounds like their stalker originally owned the house but lost it
when he refused to/was unable to pay the property taxes.

He was discharged from some sort of Civil Service job, so my guess is that he is one of those individuals who just can't get along with other people. Whether he is certifiably mentally ill is not something I can judge.

3. What sucks is that once the bank takes it, whoever buys the REO
and any subsequent buyer won't get the benefit of the disclosure as the bank/successful bidder won't live there (most likely).
