...but Schwarzenegger is really impressing me. Whereas President Insane would have obliviously stood by (and Shitstain Shoots-Guy-In-Face would have taken advantage of the situation and eaten the victim), the Governor immediately went to the aid of the young boy who fainted. I have a sneeking suspicion that Gov. Schwarzenegger is going to, in the end, endorse Senator Obama.

2. I thought it was smote
Smitten sounds like someone is infatuated with. Like I'm smitten over this girl I'm seeing. Something like that.

Or is that what you mean and you're being sarcastic with the OPer.

6. 'Smitten' is 'in luv'.
Smited or smote is for the hammer of god.
Smote is preferred.

3. AHnold is a populist...
He tries hard to be a Republican, but he eventually bends to the will of Californians, who are notoriously progressive. He just wants everyone to like him.

I, too, was impressed by his jump to action! I saw it on the morning news as I readied for work. See... he's not a REAL Republican... he has empathy for other human beings!

4. Smite this!

Well, the Governator has already endorsed the grumpy old man, but his wife and daughter have both endorsed Obama IIRC.

Though he sure as hell hasn't fixed our budget problems, which is supposedly the reason Davis got chucked out.

9. As we're about to find out on a much larger scale....
...it takes time. At least the Governor is working with the Democrats in Sacramento which really shows his strength. The only thing President Insane can do is cry for more tax cuts for the wealthy.

20. I imagined he'd be a lot worse
I'm not willing to say that he's done a good job (let's face it, he's a Republican). But we have gotten our way sometimes. He's tried his had at "universal" health care. If that's pandering then I don't care. You can pander to me all you want as long as I get my way in the end.

10. Not only would President Insane have obliviously stood by,
when he finally figured out what was going on he would have been really irritated that some fainting kid stole his spotlight.

but in the end he has been no worse for my state than a mediocre Democratic governor would have been.

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/12/20/washington/20epa.html">Here's what "turned my head"

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger of California said the states would go to federal court to reverse the E.P.A. decision.

“It is disappointing that the federal government is standing in our way and ignoring the will of tens of millions of people across the nation,” Mr. Schwarzenegger said. “We will continue to fight this battle.”

He added, “California sued to compel the agency to act on our waiver, and now we will sue to overturn today’s decision and allow Californians to protect our environment.”
