Of late, I have seen many people posting some Right Wing OP tripe they picked up somewhere off the net or through an email and when asking a valid question of how to combat the problem, they are accused of posting trash to belitte Obama or Clinton or Edwards. As passionate supporters of our preferred candiates, we are quick to assume that said poster is up to no good. This may be true in some cases but it is imperative that we read and post those things we find that do belittle all of our candidates. We MUST know our enemy. The Republican Macnine is vile, sneaky, and pathetically lazy when it comes to valid research. It is an entity that will lie, cheat, and steal what it has to in order to get its candidate elected. My old dad had a saying: "If you listen, read and learn, you not only know what you know, you know what "they" know." In the case of the Republican machine, this also means we know what they are up to. So, don't kill the messenger, let's analyze, pick apart and kill the message.

6. If it is a web site

Do a WHOIS search for the site owner. If it is an anonymous poster on a web site, then you are probably out of luck. But at least you know who owns the site where the posting has occured. You can do a Google search to see if anything turns up on the owner. If it is something in your email, check your full headers, look for the originiating IP address from where the mail came. You can then do a search on the IP address to see who owns the mail server ie. AOL, Yahoo, pick one.

I have seen the most vile crap posted here by newbies, who, after posting the drivel, put "discuss" at the end of it, as if that absolves them of their blatant violation of the rules here. And, I for one, don't have to go far to find out what the "enemy" is saying, since I have the dubious fortune of having several RW relatives who keep me well supplied with the latest RW talking point.

I, for one, also KNOW my enemy real well, after eight years of being an aware American citizen, who lost friends immediately after 9/11 because I dared to say Bush was a coward for flying all over the country wetting his pants.

It' doesn't mean that we can't talk about the latest meme, which is helpfully supplied by the MSM on an almost daily basis. However, "pulled from the ass" RW/Neocon/fundy/racist/sexist garbage has no place on this message board.
