== How to hate Barack Obama = By Mark Morford
My interpertation of the rules allows me to post this here as it is neither arguing for nor against, correct me if I'm wrong, thanks dm

Right now, deep in the GOP dungeons, they're planning their racist, disgraceful assault. Whatever will it be?

http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/g/a/2008/02/29/notes022908.DTL&nl=fix

The name thing is just too damn easy. Childish, sophomoric, a given.

Of course, this doesn't mean they won't use it. A lot.

I mean, my God, his middle name is the same as Dubya's irrelevant little dead arch-enemy and his first name rhymes with that of the most-wanted terrorist in the world and this one's pretty much already in the can, nothing much for the right to do with Barack Hussein Obama's moniker except "accidentally" mispronounce it as "Osama Hussein" over and over again on Fox News and at McCain rallies and across Wal-Mart's loudspeakers so trailer park denizens across Bush's 'Merka will get even more confused and panicky and start loading up the bunker with Ding-Dongs and Coors just in case the Muslim radicals take over.

No, the problem for GOP strategists is not how to inflame the troglodytic, Limbaugh/Coulter-grade sects of the party who, assuming Obama goes the distance, are already hugely terrified of the notion of a black liberal president, given how he'll surely be a slippery slope straight to gay marriage and rampant lesbianism in schools and hourly shriekings to Allah as everyone's forced to give up their guns and drive a hybrid moped to the tofu store. ...

2. Great post!
I don't think his middle name, although it will be used a lot, will be as much as issue as other little tidbits of info they dig up. Rezko will still be a problem, Farakhan will once again rear his ugly head, the old issue of Obama and an unknown gay lover in the back of an also unknown limo, Michelle Obama's thesis, and if he ever dated a white woman, remember what they did to Harold Ford. There will be more no doubt. It would be just as bad for Clinton. The difference is, we know what's in her old baggage. I bet Karl Rove is working overtime right now.

5. I say "Fight Fire with Fire"
Scorched Earth campaign to Swift Boat the shit out of John McCain under way.

Cheap sleazy truth lacking radio commercials on any media outlet irresponsible enough to air them morning noon and night.

Don't stop until the fucking Rat-publicans are screaming for media regulation and a fairness doctrine

6. Let's not Swift Boat McCain
Swiftboating involves making up a bunch of plausible-sounding Damn Lies about someone, then repeating them until people start believing them.

No Republican ever needs to be swiftboated because the unvarnished truth is too damaging to them.

McCain was in the Keating Five, took illegal inducements from lobbyists and is about a thousand years old.

8. But there's not one reason to lie about him
If we swiftboat McCain--if we start making shit up about him--the Repuke media will turn him into even more of a deity than they think he is now.

But if we keep strictly to the truth while we're talking about all the shit he's done, eventually they will have to admit he's a major sleaze.

10. Are you saying there's no need to "swiftboat" McCain because he has enough garbage in his background
Edited on Fri Feb-29-08 10:55 AM by samdogmom
to put him under the bus--without making up any lies?

If that's the case, I agree!

(Edited for spelling.)

14. That's exactly what I'm saying
McCain's a Republican. If you dig deep enough, you can find enough garbage on him to not only deny him the presidency, but cost him any chance of getting elected to the office of Dog Catcher for East Bum Fuck, Alabama.

Digging that deep requires a teaspoon. The guy's oozing with slime and sleaze.

9. I truly love Mark Morford!
He's always spot on! And, a regular media columnist who offers a breath of fresh air and REALITY instead of the usual nonsense! Thanks for posting.

Let's see how all this Obama name/other bashing works out.

12. SNORT
"Because at the same time, they must make their own unlikely candidate, a feisty but fuzzy 71-year-old war hawk whose entire campaign is apparently now being fueled by a giant hunk of Cold War phlegm, the nauseating notion that not only is a perpetual state of war and aggression desirable for America, but is actually essential to a healthy and functioning nation, they must make John McCain's musty, patriarchal brand of regurgitated Republicanism seem fresh and visionary and not horribly regressive and embarrassing."
