It is YOU! It is the Internet. It is the blogosphere. It is you and others that hold the mainstream media accountable. They know now that they cannot spread any old rumor they want without being called on it. They will be held responsible by public opinion. For those that say the Internet overestimates its own importance, I would suggest they look at the opinions expressed here on DU and the overall vote in the primaries. I think you would see a close parallel?

have done themselves in. I think they have realized that more and more, they are irrelevant. I find it interesting how many keep the television tuned to MSNBC, or CNN, or Fox.. 24/7, and also complain about the coverage 24/7. When I think of the news articles that have most impacted me I realize that none of them were seen on the television screen. That said, I think the internet is being bombarded with all kinds of repetitious bullshit, and it is taking longer and getting harder for me to find the information I am looking for.
