The selling of McCain by the GOP & the Media as both "moderate/liberal" and "conservative" is genius
You've got McCain reassuring the money men who own both parties that he's going to keep the Bush tax cuts for the rich, and let big business to continue to run hog-wild and unregulated. That's all the conservatism that matters to them, so they're sold.

Then at the same time, the GOP's attack dogs Coulter & Limbaugh both profess their disgust with the supposedly "moderate/liberal/maverick" senator, and the media repeats it, never questioning the mantra that he's a moderate.

Which is brilliant, considering how many people are fed up with Bush and right-wing policies - promote your guy as someone more reasonable.



And now, in the most transparently fake "gaffe" of all time, McCain himself makes a fake freudian slip where he says, "I'm a proud libera-"then corrects himself and says "conservative".




I call bullshit. This is all DEFINITELY a GOP-coordinated scam to make the public think he's something he's not - a moderate.


I don't buy it for a second, but I'll bet 95% of the public does.
