13. When the stock market goes down Wall Street and Main Street suffer.
When the stock market goes up, Wall Street prospers, yet Main Street still struggles.

When in the world is everyone going to wake up to the fact that the fortunes of Wall Street fuck Main Street when they are bad and fuck us Main Street when they are good. -- Oh, in case you didn't get it, most of us are Main Street.

As I implied in a different thread, UNREGULATED CAPITALISM is system designed for the benefit of the Haves. As for the rest of us, get used to the idea that the world is made up of fuckors and fuckees. We are the fuckees.

16. The Fuckees- Good one!
The only satisfaction I get these days is
knowing that the ass hats that voted for this shit
are going down with the rest of us...

I confess, it brings me solace to know that.

9. It's always fascinating to see equities decline AT THE SAME TIME as the value of the dollar declines
It takes a truly STUPID person to fail to recognize that the rape of the working class is a LOSE-LOSE process.

11. Uh oh, here comes the skkkyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Run, everyone run!!!

I always laugh at these types of posts. I'm guessing it was started by someone who never posted on a day when the Dow was ever UP over 300 points. Why is that?

We also have endless threads about how the government tries to keep us scared all the time.

They have nothing on all the scaremongering right here on DU.

I always laugh at these type of posts. They mock the OP yet kick it. Thanks for playing!

even with the markets down you can still develop revenue. it just takes risk and determination to succeed.

18. Daily Dow prices for the past year
http://finance.yahoo.com/q/hp?s=%5EDJI&a=01&b=1&c=2007&d=01&e=29&f=2008&g=d

you can see that average today is still higher than other days in this month. Alert me when the dow hits 10,000.

24. Well, since you claim interest, thought you might like the link I provided
And if you pay attention to the stock market you've probably noticed it goes up and down all the time. With a seeming lack of rationality. I swear every other day the market is up because of some positive news and down the next because of something negative. Makes little sense to me.

Ten years ago it was under 8000. Over 12,000 now. What's the math on that?

25. Thanks for the chart, is interesting. I find myself watching when there's a daily change
of 300 or so, up or down. I really don't understand the stock market.
