Do you remember the good will and extended offers of cooperation we got after 9/11, the good will that Bush squandered? Well we are going to see it again on January 20, 2009. It will not last long unless we make good use of it but if our next President plays their cards right we can quickly regain what respect we had world wide - maybe even earn some.

This is our chance and if we do not make good use of it I'm afraid the world will stop turning the blind eye to what we do and turn actively against us.

Actually, I doubt Cheney will be anywhere near the inauguration. Expect him to be outside the country.

7. I'll tell you what I do remember. While watching the coverage on 11 September 2001,...

...I said to myself, "I thought the Americans were difficult enough to deal with before. Now they'll be absolutely impossible." It didn't take long for Bush to prove me right. I also thought, well, this definitely would NOT have happened if Al Gore were president.

So now, whichever Democrat makes it into the White House, the USA will have a golden opportunity to prove the rest of the world wrong. One way will be to make sure Gore has a prominent position either in cabinet or as your newly appointed Environment Czar under President (Clinton/Obama).
