I'm Longing For Cool, Calm and Collected...

I long for a President who will tell me the truth, the good with the bad.

I long for a President, from day one, who will announce a Cabinet just filled with the bright, articulate and forward-thinking types that he has had working on his campaign.

I long for a President who will have as his closest confidantes, those seasoned, older, wiser, senior members of the Democratic Party (Kennedy, Dodd, Biden and many others) to feel free to advise, consent and disagree without worry of admonishment or dismissal.

I long for a President, at his first press conference, who will smile at Helen Thomas and say, "C'mon up here Helen and sit in front of me, so I can keep on eye on you" (then wink at her) as the Press Corps erupts into loud and enthusiastic applause.

I long for a President, at his first press conference, to announce that Ms. Stephanie Miller, OR, Rachel Maddow, OR any of our beloved progressive news/essayists/journalists as his Press Secretary.

I long for a President on Inaugural Day, to quote from FDR, JFK, MLK and RFK and give us a speech that will be quoted in history books for future generations.

I long for a President on the occasion of his first State of the Union address, to tell us what has been accomplished, what has not, and what needs to be done.

I long for a President who will instill his enthusiasm and list of accomplishments to bring the Republican side of the aisle genuinely to their feet to applaud his efforts and accomplishments...(This may be a stretch but I can still long for it).....Yes I can.

2. I love Biden

He was my first choice. Whoever our candidate is I hope he/she will offer Biden a top cabinet position.

I also long for a President who doesn't have to make things up in order to have a list of accomplishments.
