Jailed Ex-Tyco CEO Dennis Kozlowski Misses His Dogs

He ripped off shareholders to the tune of $400 million, but Dennis Kozlowski still has his sensitive side. The former Tyco czar, now doing eight to 25 years in the slammer for misappropriation, grand larceny and fraud, is pining - not for his ex-wife, Karen, who dumped him after his conviction, but for his beloved pet pooches. Kozlowski's one-time p.r. man, Barry Epstein, tells The Palm Beach Post he got a handwritten letter from the corporate con man moaning that "simply seeing my dogs would mean so very much to me."

Former Boca resident Dennis Kozlowski, who's serving a maximum 25 years in a New York state prison for running the locally based Tyco International as his personal piggy bank, is missing his dogs. We figured he wouldn't be missing his socialite ex-wife, Karen, who divorced him after he took his place behind bars. But he wrote about his K-9s to his former PR man, Barry Epstein, in a handwritten one-page letter. "Simply seeing my dogs would mean so very much to me," he wrote. The Koz, 61, also wrote he is still teaching GED classes to fellow inmates. "Attempting to improve literacy and many skills of many inmates is a challenge but makes me feel good when it works," the letter reads. "Simple face-to-face communication skills lack in many inmates here. I do what I can to help." Seems he's going to have to keep helping until at least January 2014, when he's first eligible for parole. ...
