Pa. Senator Hospitalized By Heart Attack
Fumo Suffers Artery Blockage
POSTED: 9:52 pm EST March 2, 2008

PHILADELPHIA -- Pennsylvania Sen. Vincent Fumo was rushed to a hospital Sunday night with chest pains and was diagnosed as having had a heart attack, a spokesman said.

Fumo was having dinner at home, where he has been since he had back surgery Feb. 19, when he had chest pains and shortness of breath shortly before 7 p.m., spokesman Gary Tuma said.

Fumo was taken by ambulance to Hahnemann University Hospital, where doctors said he had a myocardial infarction and 100 percent blockage of the right coronary artery, Tuma said.

1. Bad timing on his part,
he's scheduled for federal trial in a couple of months.

3. Was extremely powerful guy
Fumo for many years has been one of the most powerful Democrats in PA. Unfortunately, that was not a good thing. He has always had a certain "air" around him, and he is facing charges on many counts of corruption.

Recently, it was uncovered that his mansion in Philadelphia was only paying the taxes equivalent to a house that was 1/20th the size. When questioned, the assessment office in Philadelphia said they lost all of his files.
