Ducks Unlimited
If you use google to get to DU and type in DU the first hit is always the university of Denver. The second result is either the DU or http://www.ducks.org/, seems to vary. Are we competing against ducks?

2. Ducks Unlimited used the DU abbreviation . .
. . for many many years before the founders or most members of this DU were even born (1937). Probably has many thousands of more members too. No surprise it comes up in a good position on Google. I first joined that DU in the early 80's. Great conservation organization.

5. Yes, and that wetland habitat forms the base . .
. . of the complex ecological systems that support all other animals up the food chain to the large predators at the top - that's us folks. The wetland habitat preserved by DU over the last several decades has done more to preserve ecological diversity and healthy ecosystems in the US, Canada and Mexico than all the national parks combined. Agricultural set-aside has also been a major contributor - hats off to participating farmers.

6. Limited Ducks ...er...Ducklings...12, or so, hatching outside the back door of my office...
Edited on Mon Mar-03-08 03:23 PM by A HERETIC I AM
A female Muscovy has been using a spot under the electrical meter board as a nest on and off for the last year. She's been sitting on 12 or 13 eggs for the last few weeks and I noticed the first ones hatched this AM.

Happy birthday, ducks!
