in the US is inexcusible! Volunteers who used to take care of poor people in the Amazon Jungel are now taking care of the poor in the US!!!!

If you missed it, here's a link to a video. THANK YOU 60 Minutes!!!!

http://www.cbsnews.com/sections/i_video/main500251.shtml?id=3898008n&channel=/sections/60minutes/videoplayer3415.shtml

Throughout the entire segment, all I could say was "I can't believe this is happening in the United States!"

2. I completely believe it.
We deserve everything we're getting and the worse to come, such bloody, murderous hypocrites as we are.

7. At least there's no gay marriage.
That's the important thing. And that Gore, such an egg head who took credit for things like inventing the internet. (Need I say it-sarcasm.)

3. I'm glad the MSM is starting to report this.
We have a big health care problem in this country and it's as bad as any undeveloped nation in the world. We can't let this go on and I believe our candidates pandering to the for profit health care industry won't fix anything. We need H. R. 676 passed now. The private insurers and for profit health care providers have to go the way of the dinosaurs if we are to bring our country into the twenty first century of health care like all the other developed nations of the world.

8. I saw this and to think Ted Kennedy ask just about 20 years ago for Health Care
Truman ask after WW11 for health care, at the same time Germany and Japan both got National Health Care...I used to as a child stand in the school yard with my hand over my heart so proud of the nation, now such things as the thing CBS had on about Health Care and how the some company that had to help out in I think it was Africa is now having to help working americans...looks like if we have 8 more years of Republican rule, we will be a third world country, I'm not surprised after three consecutive republican president in the 20's we were almost at the level of a third would country, Thank Your God every day, he sent us the Intelligent compassionate Franklin Delano Roosevelt.

9. And then there are the clinics on the reservations.
Don't get me wrong, rural poverty is off-the-charts bad, but the medical care Native Americans receive on the rez is pretty darn bad. Hubby was in residency with a married couple, both internal medicine residents at the time, who'd done a rotation at a rez clinic in Arizona. They were med students, but when they saw the unbelievable incomptence of the doctor, they started taking over his patients (not that he minded). They did everything they knew of to help people there and were horrified at the diabetes that wasn't medicated (let alone controlled), the heart disease that was only given aspirin, and worse. On their last day, the wife was arranging a life flight to get one of her patients out of there and to a bigger hospital for a cancer that the doctor had just written off (at stage one!).

It's been happening on the rez for awhile. It's been happening in rural areas for awhile. It's been happening in inner city hospitals and clinics for awhile. The reality is, our entire medical system is dramatically broken. The poor have been getting substandard care for ages, the middle class have been getting substandard care for decades, and now it's hitting the upper middle class. As Hubby says, though, nothing will happen until it hits the top 5%, and it's starting to hit them.
