John McCain is too old to be president
I'm only a few years younger than Old John, and I recognize the signs of old fartism.

By saying which, I have cleverly seized the moral high ground. Nyaah, nyaah, nyaah.

1. He would have to pick a younger VP 'just in case'.

8. Riffing on your reply...
Any VP that is chosen for him will be his right wing zealot handler.

He pretty much has to serve his masters as well as hold up appearances for his extremist base.

10. I've thought about this and could you imagine Lieberman getting all he wanted?

11. Liberman would be an intereseting choice
But it could be a gamble too.

I don't know - certainly he is the most "moderate" possibility.

3. Physically, no. Mentally, yes.
I always say there are 18 year olds who think like old men and 80 year olds who will always be kids. It's the state of mind that's important. And John's is somewhere back in the Middle Ages.

5. Well, it may not be age so much.

I know of several people who are considered "elderly" and they in fact have a lot more energy than "youngsters" 20 years younger than themselves.

Let's face it: John Mc Cain is in really poor health. He's a cancer survivor. If you look at his face, he does not look healthy. His one cheek is really fat, he kinda looks like a chipmunk. Plus, there are scars going across his face I think he keeps having surgery on his face.

Hard to believe that this old Geezer is out screwing around with female lobbyists. He has the energy for that?

This was the best they could come up with?

9. It may not be a matter of the best they can come up with
I once saw the GOP defined as the party of orderly succession. I think that's true. They believe in a people moving into the top slot via seniority.

The Democrats have more than a tinge of that, but they also have their Obamas and Kennedys and so on -- young upstarts who refuse to wait their turn and push to the front of the line. By an amazing coincidence, those are of the exciting candidates who force shifts in the party's orientation. Republicans fear such candidates and squelch them.

12. So are Ron Paul & Ralph Nader
who are even older than McCain, though his ideals and 'values' are ancient in comparison.
