More facts on the NAFTA/Canada story linked at TPM
the first statement made by the chief of staff of the Canadian PM was that HILLARY was telling them not to worry about what was said during the election.

Since 75 per cent of Canadian exports go to the U.S., Mr. Obama and Ms. Clinton's musings about reopening the North American free-trade pact had caused some concern.

Mr. Brodie downplayed those concerns.

"Quite a few people heard it," said one source in the room.

"He said someone from (Hillary) Clinton's campaign is telling the embassy to take it with a grain of salt. . . That someone called us and told us not to worry."

Government officials did not deny the conversation took place.

6. I head Hillary's name the first day.
and this backs it up. It was Hillary's name mentioned first. Read the article, In Globe and Mail, many reporters heard it and back it up. Canadian reporters.

Or, believe what you will, just don't pass it off as fact if you don't intend to inform yourself.

7. Actually, a few of the stories did - like the first one of Feb. 27
"Low-level sources also suggested the Clinton campaign may have given a similar warning to Ottawa, but a Clinton spokesperson flatly denied the claim."

8. Can you read?
“He said someone from (Hillary) Clinton’s campaign is telling the embassy to take it with a grain of salt ... That someone called us and told us not to worry.”

Government officials did not deny the conversation took place.

They said that Brodie sought to allay concerns about the impact of Obama and Clinton’s assertion that they would re-negotiate NAFTA if elected. But they did say that Brodie had no recollection of discussing any specific candidate — either Clinton or Obama. CTV News Vice-President Robert Hurst said he would not discuss his journalists’ sources.

But others said the content of Brodie’s remarks was passed on to CTV’s Washington bureau and their White House correspondent set out the next day to pursue the story on Clinton’s apparent hypocrisy on the North American Free Trade Agreement.

5. We had a surplus with Canada now we have a trade deficit.

Too bad the Canadians might be upset. They are getting our automobile industry too. Their dollar surpassing ours.

The have our Niagara Falls Power for their country (tax payers of Buffalo built and paid for it at great expense). There are nuclear power plants in New York since they stole the clean power (actually our Energy Department and the Republican Governor allowed the sale).

I like the Canadians but their elite, anglophile, Neo Con leaders are out to ruin us just like British (and a British company purchased the once public power of Niagara Falls to be used in Canada...Toronto). They wanted to control all of the NE power grid to manipulate prices for profit. Heck with the citizens of the NE. I heard a Spanish energy company wanted to buy the Maine power. Now they are buying and selling like Enron for profit. Probably driving up artificial prices.

Trade can only be "fair" for Americans unless we have as much going out as in. The huge trade deficit and national debt are making us a target by our enemies (so called friends). NAFTA is out to destroy us. We never win a trade despute...as Hillary said a while back. It ain't fair trade period.
