Since I stopped reading GDP…

My dog came back home.

I stopped having to use Just for Men.

I discovered there are hundreds and hundreds of local, state, House and Senate races.

My doctor told me I have the blood pressure of a teenager. (A pale, sickly, thin teenager, but a teenager none-the-less.)

I haven’t called one single person an asshat.

The cute girl behind the counter at the 7-11 asked me if I’ve been working out.

I can remember my daughter’s middle name.

I can remember my middle name.

I smile at strangers, and they smile back.

I watched a whole movie.

I stopped yelling at the TV as much. (Unless it’s C-span, and you can’t blame me for that.)

My smile is brighter, my skin is clearer, and there is a strange, but wonderful, skip in my step.

I smoke less pot, and enjoy it more.

I’ve stopped breaking my keyboards.

I shake my head less.

My hairline has stopped receding.

I don’t swear as much.

I think Hillary and Barack are great. Really, I do. I don’t hate either one of them.

I’m proud to be a Democrat again.

Feel free to stop reading GDP for yourself, and see what happens.

It's quite sad. I've made it a point to avoid GDP all primary season long (for the most part). As the results came in last night, I decided to come on to see reactions. It sickens me how supporters of each candidate are so easy to not only bash the other, but do so in such a disgusting manner. I know GDP isn't the best example on civil discourse in Democratic politics, and that it doesn't represent the vast majority of loyal Dems, but it is still disheartening.

Maybe I'm jaded because my favorite candidate dropped out early and I haven't "fallen in love" with the two that are still standing (as Randi would put it). I'm ecstatic with both candidates and I will be happy to work hard for either in the GE. The sad thing is that both Obama and Clinton are so close on so many issues and are both are great individuals. Due to differences in styles and campaign tactics, this race has blown up. I just hope we can come together before the convention and really give to the Repubs in Nov.

It was made much easier when they implemented my request to add the hide feature to the Greatest Page. The only thing they haven't done is add the hide feature on the front page and from time to time, I've accidentally stepped into that infected ooze but have pulled myself out rapidly and quickly. It's strange though, I have that yearning when I'm there, to play with the infecteds, much the same as I feel when I see an especially amusing troll. As a matter of fact, I call the folks who won't leave there, the ones "temporarily infected with trollism". I'm hopeful they will heal quickly as that place and the reason for that place, comes to an end.

In the meantime, I'm resisting the urge to go mess with their heads. It's no more appropriate to do that with them, than to do that with a poor, outgunned, outbrained, freeper moran.

So, remember folks, there but by the grace of _____________ go thee, so be kind, but don't interact with them. It is, after all, a highly infectious disease.
